Have self respect–not going round doing all sorts of terrible things to yourself like taking drugs or overdrinking
Being able to get up after making mistakes and learning from them

Young children would have no idea at all what the bad connotations behind the word meant and should not anyway… i myself had no idea that there was a link between ‘ho’ and a derogatory term for a female sex worker. ‘Ho ho ho’ is a traditional and customary ‘greeting’ if you like that we would expect from Santa Claus and i don’t get why we suddenly decided to make a big fuss about it.

I suppose that is true… I always used to think that my parents favored my younger, especially youngest siblings over me. It was almost as if they used me as an extra parent… but then again i think that the kids in the middle are the ones that receive the least attention from parents, while the youngest ones are the kids that everyone spoils.

Calm down. It appears that you wish to continue your relationship with your husband despite his shortcomings. I would suggest that you get him to join AA, get some help for him so that he quits smoking and just do your best to support him. Be patient and let him know that you do love him and that he can trust you. It will take time for him to improve, and don’t continue your affair with ‘Jamie’. If your love for your husband is genuine (and he appears to love you too) then it is not worth you spoiling your marriage over someone who doesn’t really seem to appreciate you. good luck xoxox

I agree with most of what everyone else says… you should feel good about what you did to help that person whether or not they thank you. The happiness from helping others is enough for me, the thanks is bonus. what do you think?
