I’m old enough to remember when Dag Hammarskjold (UN Gen Secr) was shot down in Congo, when JFK was shot, when Bob Kennedy was shot, and Martin Luther King, and Olof Palme (Swed. Prime Minister), and a few others. I remember events that changed the world, some of which really did change the world for most people but in some cases “changed the world” for myself because it affected me. I lived in Liberia when President Tolbert was shot and it made a huge change, because the revolution started there and costed the lives of over 400.000 before it was over, 25 years later. I remember disasters like the Tsunami in Thailand, and the Haiti earthquake.
But I also remember some good stuff, like first the dog Laika’s and then Juri Gagarin’s space rides, and later the American first steps on the moon. I remember the fall of the Berlin Wall, and even when Floyd Patterson was beaten by Ingemar Johansson on KO and Ingemar became World Champ in Heavy Weight. I remember that because Ingemar was a Swede. (I also remember when Floyd took back the title after a short while, but it did not bother me because Floyd was the nicest sportsman ever known).
So 9/11 was one of those days that you remember, like remembering what you did when you heard about it and what happened the following hours. And it certainly changed the lives for millions of people.
I did not change my mind about major things that day. I do not believe in most theories of conspiracy, but the tragedy surely made some people trying to cover up mistakes and/or suspect acquaintances. But it is just stupid to accuse US authorities for having organized the tragedy. There is not a single office without internal fights - they are simply not disciplined enough for a such operation.
The loss of lives was devastating, and the attack on the soul of not only America but also of the rest of the civilized world was huge. But another of the major and long-lasting damages is that it is still used by power-hungry and controlling authorities to justify cuts in our civil and human rights.
Antiterrorist laws are just a show, to disguise other agendas.

This will be long, so maybe I should have made a separate post about it instead…
One way to do it is so simple, so it almost feels like cheating.
You taka a shirt, a dress, a pair of pants which are worn out or which you would throw away anyway, but which has a perfect fit. Should you want to make a set, take two pieces like for instance a skirt and a blouse. They donāt have to fit eachother colorwise, because you will use them as models only. Use your imagination for combining the parts to a set. Just pay a little attention to the thickness of the respective fabrics, so you will not have to adjust the model too much in order to compensate for that.
Now you cut up all the seams carefully, removing the thread pieces. Iron the pieces of fabric carefully so you get them entirely flat, but mark where the seams were, before the traces of the seam allowances disapper by the ironing. Write what you want on the fabric, but donāt use a bleeding ballpen. A fine-tipped felt pen with permanent ink is good.
Pay attention to in which order the pieces were sewn together, especially at the collar, sleeves, pant zip or the alike. You will notice it when cutting up the seams. Take notes! You can use the fabric as a note book if you want. Or use a digital camera, for that matter.
Now you have the pattern models, to use as templates on your new fabrics. A few things to consider: If you are making everyday clothing to use many times, it could be good to wash the new fabric once or twice before cutting, so you will not have as much shrinkage. Another thing to pay attention to, is the direction of the woven treads in the fabric, especially if you use corduroy (manchester) or satin fabric. If you use different directions in nearby pieces, they will look different (corduroy is usually turned with the fibres pointing slightly upwards, giving it a darker look).
Your old clothes may have too small seam allowances (to save fabric), so you can add a little if you want, by cutting outside of your template. Excessive fabric can be cut away later. This is also the time when you add length to a piece, or adjust it in other ways. But donāt forget to mark exactly where the seams should be. In this stage, use a sharp fabric chalk for the marking (hehe, NOT the felt pen).
Now it is just to sew. It is not even difficult, it is just to take your time and be carefully systematic. Use the cut-away pieces for training, until you feel comfortable with the machine and with your sewing skills.
Pay attention to securing the fabric edges. Iron them āapartā, and then folded. But be careful so you donāt iron them too hard, if you donāt want to see the seam allowances from the outside.
If there are buttons in a skirt, put the button holes horizontal and not vertical. Mass-made shirts always have vertical buttonholes, but that is to allow for the button machine to misplace the buttons slightly. But the shirtās ātension wrinklesā will be much less with horizontal button holes if you place the buttons correct. And there is no reason for misplacing them. After cutting up the sewn buttonholes, iron the shirt and take it on. Ask somebody to help you to needle-pin the shirt to a perfect fit, and mark the button positions accordingly.
You will be amazed and proud by your skills! Somebody with knowledge and with a sense for details may notice for instance the horizontal buttonholes, but that will only make the dress look custom talored for YOU.
That is not poverty, but it is luxory!

It is not the least humble, because it implies that you are the holder of the only TRUTH, and that is simply based upon the facts that you did not see, and that you do not understand things.
I think I am more humble. because as is the case with Particle Physics, I do not rule out things only because I do not understand them. Especially if I am not able to provide proofs against them!
One replier in your post said something clever when comparing the Nature to God, but he made one mistake in assuming that scientists are not religious.
As a matter of fact, there is not a single Nobel Prize winner in Physics, who did not become religious if he wasnāt religious already before! I do not say that they all became believers in the Bible, but they all came to the conclusion that this entire Universe cannot have happened by random, and that there must be an intention behind it. Those are not atheistic thoughts!
When it comes to intelligence, I am aware of that I still play the backyard hockey while those heavy Nobel Prize guys play the National Hockey League!
So if I was not a believer, the most intelligent approach I could have is to at least remain a bit humble about things I donāt understand!”

But really, don’t misunderstand the above from nextstar, she did not mean that you literally should screw people, only that you should not bother about what they think.
Because that is part of what it is about, too much screwing around!
Why is your friend in the center, and not you? Because she is probably regarded as “easier” than you!
To understand that, you have to use your imagination and put yourself in the boys’ shoes. What are they after? What do they look for? I don’t think I will have to spell it out to you, what those testosterone-full guys are looking for…
In short, they are looking for easy lays, for their own fun and excitement but also for something to brag to their friends with. It is like a contest.
The style of dressing and make-up you started your post with, is designed and aimed to attract boys. It is supposed to make them horny.
Now, what is there to be sad about? “Oh, I am so sad because I don’t look like an easy lay!”
And indeed, that is part of the thing. I told about some other girls in the above. The most beautiful of them all, is the only one of them who is still a virgin. She is a Muslim and all the people around know that she will NOT sleep with a boy within an overviewable future. And she is consequently not as “popular” with the boys, the one who has fewer chasing after her…
Do you see a pattern?
