I think it’s good that you use little makeup, rather than too much. I myself only use mascara - and eyeliner and lipstick only on special occasions. I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all.
When I was younger my older sister would refuse to go out of the house if she hadn’t put her mascara and eyeliner on, and I promised myself I would never get to that stage. So sometimes I don’t even wear mascara - the only reason I do now really is because it makes me look healthier, and less washed-out, and certain hairstyles only seem to work with it on!
And too much makeup is not good for the skin, you don’t want to be one of those people who can’t go out without a layer of foundation on, because putting so much on has made their skin so bad that all they can do to hide it is put more on!

I go to a Church of England church, and they definitely mentioned Holy Week there. They didn’t make a big thing of it though, I wouldn’t have noticed it if I hadn’t been listening during the prayers :P

If you have problems with emotional eating, maybe stock up on healthy nibbles so when the urges do drive you to the fridge, you can eat but not have to worry about the weight. I like raw carrots for example :) Also, try other ways of getting it out of your system, like writing about whatever’s getting you down in a diary or something. I enjoy playing the piano so that’s a good way for me to pass time until I feel better, so find what you enjoy doing, maybe drawing or exercising or something, I dunno. Stuff like that is a good way to sort your thoughts out whilst concentrating on something else, so it’s not too intense.
Don’t beat yourself up too much about the weight gain, I think you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who hadn’t gained weight in their life (apart from the obvious growing up…). My other piece of advice is to not try to lose it too quickly, this could backfire and you may end up gaining more weight. Follow a sensible diet and don’t drastically cut out one food group dramatically, because you will find you will crave that kind of food more and more as your body needs it, and then you may just snap and ruin all your hard work :)

I don’t self-harm, so don’t take my word for this. But isn’t one of the big dangers that it’s addictive? Maybe it’s something that you’ve become addicted to and have kind of detached it now from the things that you need to cope with. So instead of just doing it when you need it, it’s become something you do anyway, as a vice? Maybe it’s come to be your default coping mechanism to such an extent that situations that, in the past, you wouldn’t have needed to self-harm over, you are now because that’s what you revert to when you’re looking for a way to cope?

It could just be an infection your body is fighting off. Has something big happened in your life recently that causes you to think it could be stress?
