  The only way to get rid of a gut is to eat less, eat lean. Do not go on a protein only diet. You have to eat lean proteins and complex carbs and limit your carbs to breakfast and lunch. Your dinner should be lean meat and veggies. Morning and noon should be comprised of lowfat yogurts, fat free milk (not skim since you need the milk solids to grow), whole grain breads and brown rice in moderation, special k is great cereal, egg whites with cooking spray and turkey breast (deli sliced and pre packaged). Watch your portions, you can still eat healthy foods and eat too much. It is not realistic to run daily and eat healthy all the time and not lose weight unless you are really over eating.

  No there isn’t although ideally you want to make sure it is matching viscosity. Ultimately the primary difference is oil durability and how the oil processes with age. Mineral motor oils have a shorter life, lower smoke temp and tend to sort of granulize when they are old and overworked where as synthetic oil, especially full synthetic, lasts much longer and thickens instead of granulizing.
