  dont worry mam! my family has gone through a similar thing. i will be 17 september of this year actually. but my parents divorced when i was about 3 1/2. my mother did not allow me to see my dad for a couple years and would tell me bad things about him. when i was in 1st grade i finally got to visit my dad every other weekend but he had to come pick me up. my mother treated me pretty badly. when my dad met my now stepmom i did not take to her very well but i got along with her a lot better than i did my mom and this made my mom mad. but looking back now, the reson i was snappy with her was b/c i did not have a stable mother figure and i coulnt really act around one once i got one. my summer before 8th grade i moved in with my dad and stepmom. my mother still tries to make my life bad. funny thing too, my name is Brittany. but my stepmom says that she does not want ot thake the place of my mother, honestly i do wish she could. but just treat brittany and kindly as you can. she could be testing you to see if you are serious about sticking around and being there for her. she could just be having a hard time adapting still. but just be as kind as you kind and friendly. but she is becoming a teen ager and this is the time when she will be “bratty” and rebellous. soon she will reach the stage where she will look over what she has been through and things will change between you two!

  just live life sweetie! i am only sixteen years old and my stepmother ad i had a conversation kinda similar just the other day adn she told me that people live to be in their 90’s today and i have not even went through 20 percent of my life yet. and therre should be no pressure to feel like i should grow up. like i no longer hav a cell phone and i am the one out of so many of my friends that does not have a car. but i still manage to get around. but my parents have told me that the only way i could get either or both would to be to get a job. that would me quittin the after school activities i am in. but they told me that i should enjoy doin all these things whil i can because when i do actualy get older i will wish i could go back. do not pay attention to your friends. there are still some many people even in their 50s who watch cartoons and enjoy actin like a kid. many people would give anything to go back to your age.
  
  and do not worry about the make up thing. i know many girls that dont. it is your choice. when you feel ready go ahead. not wearing make up does not make you a real teenager. infact, not wearin any makes you more real than anybody that does. wearing make up can cover up any natural feature but it also can bring more out, you kist have to use it as to where you think it bebnefits you. and if you think that you are fine without it that that should be ok!

  well when friends are close all the time, one or both people may get annoyed with each other. just take a couple days and avoid her and dont talk to her unless she talks to you. this may give her some time and she will have some space. but make it more than 2 days. one day wont really do anything.

  its not somehitng that people are really used to. i honestly do not like the look. but people should feel free to express themselves in appropriate ways so i say go for it.

  its pretty typical for teenagers to have a bunch of different emotions comming at different times. trust me i know i do and many of my really close friends do. just dont let it get to your head too much and try to do things that keep you happy and do not focus on things that dont.
