I am a retired Civil Engineer who is trying to research his family history and finding some interesting facts to which I was never aware. My father was brought up in Witton Gilbert, Durham all his life and I never met any of his cousins and he never spoke of his grand parents. My mother who was from Littletown, Durham was just the same. I can not recall my grand parents ever taking me to vist there brothers or sisters and there was a lot on both sides of the family. There are very few old photographs and if there is anyone who can help me with my research it would be great.
