Yea i know i always look at ppl as imperfect beings which helps me to see them as more human i guess you can say. Because no ones perfect not even a pastor. I just like the message i get from the service.
Yea me too, eventhough i dont feel like going to sleep i need to.
Yeah, I’ve always felt it to be important to form your own ideas on how things work. You can’t always trust the people that are teaching you something, because in the end, they’re really only just like you, teaching you their version of something someone taught them. It’s healthy for the mind to question things.
I really need sleep before I turn this into a rant… lol
I read the whole reply and loved every word of it. If you read some of my replies to the post today about converting you will see that we sort of think alike.
I like the church i go to now because the pastor explains the scriptures so that we can understand. Im in college so he knows we probably dont know what exactly he is preaching so before he moves on he makes sure we know the meaning of the scriptures, which i love and appreciate.
But my common sense is still intact which keeps me open minded about this topic.
Hmmhmm… i bet lol. I felt like you just wanted to pour fire on the flames lol
But seriously, how do you get through your trials and tribulations w/o having faith in something?
Ive tried but i found that i cant do it on my own because so many things get thrown at you whenever you are trying to do good. So faith keeps you sane and helps you to over come those negative things in life
Basically we search for people that we think aren’t judgmental, but aren’t pushovers. It doesn’t have much to do with how long someone has been a member, but rather how they interact with people. There’s no specific process for this. We usually recommend someone, and the administrator has final say. I guess it’s a bit tribal.
Interesting, see i thought at least one or two mods had to be on for the majority of the day. Or that you guys had shifts or something. How do you become a mod? Is it hard. Not that im interested im just wondering.
You dont have to answer all my questions. Its just that once i get started i cant stop lol. I will understand because it is late
Spot on. I’m really just here because I’m waiting for some downloads to finish, and I was bored with playing CS (only one of my games that’s running properly on Linux at the moment).
Oh which is why you said they were moved to other temporary tasks… So while they are actual employees you guys volunteer which is why you are still here. Am i close??
The admins are cNet employees. cNet now belongs to CBS. Basically they work for CBS now. Help.com is only a small part of their job. No one is assigned to help.com fulltime.
Oh ive just seen a lot of post recently about CBS, dont really know much though. I hope they dont take the admins away permanently either. I would ask why they took them away in the 1st place but thats not my place.
No i like the anon function :(. I think by you guys putting a warning sign on the main page will stop some of the chaos. Or there could be a caution sign everytime someone post as anonymous
Thanks i just learned a valuable lesson not to be so quick to label a person who is just bored or like you said dont know better. I also think that would be a good idea if there was a sign on the main page warning newbies the admins/mods know who you are even if you post anonymously
Well, they’re not always trolls. Sometimes they just don’t know better. I guess we haven’t been clear enough about that the “anon” function on help.com isn’t really all that anonymous. It makes a lot of people do stupid things when they’re in a bad or playful mood. Those things then get them kicked off the site.
