• (1 vote) Why Do Girls Care About Their Appearance So Much?
  

  You know at some ages people focus on various different things: when you;re at school, if your friends care about being good students, thats what you’ll focus on too. If your colleagues and friends focus on what makes them special in th eyes of other people, then you may be influenced to think this is what matters most: to look slim, dress up, act in a particular way, enjoy a specific type of music and stuff.
  
  Girls focus on their looks because thats what is most relevant about a girl, at FIRST sight: looks (how pretty she is). Boys focus on attitude, bcs thats what matters most to them.
  
  You can also choose if you want to think so much about how to get slim or if you want to just be who you are.

  It’s ok to find categories in which people “fit in”, according to our standards, knowledge and experience. It gives us a sense of “that explains it…”. I’m sure the categories will vary:
  1. from individual to individual
  2. from time to time, for the same individual
  and…
  Each of us will step in and out a category, more or less frequently. The pattern of these self and other - categorization is, nonetheless, unique.

  If you think you need a boyfriend so your life gets more interesting, that makes me wonder how come some people get so alienated from themselves and from really important things in their life, that they start to think “If I had that, I wont get bored. If I had that, I would be more happy”. At times, there are indeed changes that we should make, which are serious and justifiable. But most of the time, I see it clearly, people think OTHER things, OTHER people would make a difference in their life (exterior attributions).
  
  The truth is, that pair of shoes wont bring your great self esteem back.
  Maybe one more boyfriend wont make it better for you.
  
  At this point other people go through serious situations and they get more profound answers to “why is my life so…?”.

• People really need to chill.
  

  Allot of replies, wow. You know, its true what you say. We just need that calm, that balance and serene attitude all the time. But as you say, things always change and the tension of change plays along with our tendency to adapt to change. as hard as it may be, its always the tension to get over the moment or get more out of the moment, that makes us human.
  
  Id love to chill but I am too much attuned with the world around me and I react to every change that occurs or that I may cause.

  There are various types of blindness, depending on the region of the visual apparatus that has been affected. There could be cortical blindness or sensorial blindness (the visual stimuli cannot be transmitted to the brain via the optical nerve for example). Most cases of people that are blind from birth have their visual cotex intact and fully functional. In time, without stimulation (sensory input), part of the occipital lobe will “specialize” in other function rather than interpreting neural signals as visual signals.
  
  Nonetheless, the brain is not a tabula rasa. Even if the blind person cannot use her eyes to capture light, the brain has the potential to create images only through the stimulation of the visual area, in connection with other cortical regions responsible for producing meaning, in connection with the memory and lnanguage.
  
  There are cases of blind people who can still understand and even depict images (shape, color, perspective) although they have lost their sight early in life or were born blind.

  Neuropsychology could explain this if more people would agree to be closely inspected.
  
  Visual imagery in blind people is possible, because our brains are specialized to capture, interpret and mentally represent visual stimuli.
