  Sounds like your mom is depressed. Losing a job can have that effect, so it’s not surprising. Maybe you should check into getting counciling for her, but over all, be there for her, lend her a shoulder, and just listen if she talks. She’s probably frightened too. She has dependants to care for, no job, little to no money and she’s being evicted - anyone would be scared.

  To each their own opinion. :-) There are advantages and disadvantages to either path. Until teachers are better paid and classes are kept smaller a lot of the larger public schools are going to short change students. It is a fact that many high school kids - and graduates - can’t spell very well. They also aren’t retaining what they’re taught in many of their classes. Many schools are guilty of passing students just to get them through school and out the door. A dedicated parent can teach a child as well - if not better than - a large percentage of jr high and high schools.

  I think the song you’re looking for is ‘ Insane In The Brain ‘ by Cypress Hill. LOL, maybe you just misheard the lyrics? Please let me know if this is the song you meant. The song’s chorus goes ‘ insane in the membrane, insane in the brain! ‘ and that does kind of sound like what you posted.

  My son chose to finish his schooling online, at home, because the high schools in our area are over crowded and the teachers spend most of their time trying to control the students and have little time left over for actual teaching. So yeah, it does depend on where you live and the schools. He went from D’s and F’s to a B average. For him it was a good choice to learn at home.
