• (2 votes) Me and my coworker , we both work as teachers in a preschool, and we were talking about spanking children.
  

  I have two wonderful childern and they are sweet, well behaved, and good mannered. And when they are evil little brats and really ask for it, they get their butts smacked. But I have learned alot from my dealings with my childern. If I am having a bad day and yell at them for no reason, they will misbehave. If I am calm and patient, and deal with things rationally and show them lots of love, they are good little childern. I set their boundries and reinforce them. But I also give them a wide margin to be happy go lucky childern. But for the one time I punish them, I theaten them with it and they listen. Once, a long time ago, me and my son were at a park. We went to leave, but he didn’t want too, so he ran back into the woods. I hollered at him a couple of times, but he wouldn’t listen, so I got in my car and began to drive. That kid ran up so fast thinking I was leaving without him. There were other people in the park looking at me like I was crazy, but I made my point. The rest of his life I can theaten him I will leave, and he will head. There are times in life you have to make a point and stand firm to correct an action that is bad.

  @ sum: In the realm of witchcraft, you are right in the fact the bible says that any type of sorcery or magic is illegal to be performed. And we don’t live in a culture at this time where this is routinely done, for the sake of Christianity eradicating it back medieval times, so I personally have no first hand knowledge of what harm it could cause.
  The political motivations of the medieval period were the stamping out of the Celtic religion and culture, and the degration of women, which were esteemed highly by the Celtics for being wise women. Now the actual culture of the time before Christianity comes in fragmented pieces, because they were stamped out. And this was done deliberately.
  These were not Christian ideals at work here for the betterment of mankind, but ambitious and ruthless leaders who wanted to push their own agendas onto a cowering populace.
  The bible is never justification for doing evil, but people are imperfect. In the bible, it is littered with those who are imperfect and do wrong. The only one who is perfect is Jesus, and it is his example that should be followed. If someone were to pattern their life after Jesus, that is the Christian ideal. That is why we are not jews, and don’t call ourselves jews.

  First of all, staying at home and just staring at your four walls will never make you feel better. Join again in the world of the living, there’s lots of wonderful things you can do with your time. You just have to find what works for you.
  
  Who told you that you were disabled? Is that a mindset that you have, that you cannot do anything productive, or is it something else….
  
  My husband just lost four fingers on one hand due to an accident…. but he is such a workaholic that within three months he was back to work. He couldn’t stand sitting on the couch because it made him depressed. He hated the label the government tried to give him… disabled.
  
  As far as the bible goes, why don’t you try going to church and see what happens, because it IS a confusing book if you just sit and try to read it on your own and interpret it. I found that by going to church, getting involved with small groups and other activities, increased my understanding tenfold and changed my life in a truly positive way.
  
  As far a suicide, you know you don’t really want to die. You just want the sad feeling inside you to go away. That is your inside voice inside you telling you that you need to find your purpose, the goal of your life. Until you find it, you will stay sad. I had that sadness until I found my purpose, one of which was to be a loving wife and wonderful mother.

  Wow, you’ve been through alot lately! Its hard when it seems everything is coming at you all at once. so…. here’s my advise to you, for what it is worth.
  
  First, breathe. The money problems… well, many people are going through hard times right now. You are not going to fix it in a day. Nor is it going to help you to stress and worry about it and feel like you are at the bottom of a very deep hole.
  
  The other thing you have going on is you lost many family members and now have added tenfold of responsibility in taking on their children. Bless you for doing so, for it sounds that there is no one else willing to take on that role.
  
  It sounds like you haven’t even had time to grieve you loss, because there is so much on your plate.
  
  It is thankgiving in a couple days. Take that time to spend with the remaining family, bless the time you have with them. You now know how precious that time is, for once they are gone, well, they are gone.
  
  I know it’s hard, but stop stressing the money issue for the holidays. Work on fixing it, but stop letting that issue ruin that time.
  
  This time will make you strong. Once you get through these tough times, everything else will seem like a piece of cake. You have to be strong for many now, but by being that source of strength, you will be blessed.

  There is a difference between wanting death and wanting peace. You quest for death only because you want peace. Peace can be achieved, but not through pills, or anything that may lead to destruction.
  Life is not just all about paying bills, having a roof over your head, food to eat.
  
  I like the saying that states “Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away”
  
  Think back to the happiest moments of your life. There had to be some of them. Close your eyes and remember the good feelings they produced. We draw to ourselves whatever we create. If you choose to draw dark, oppressive forces to your soul, they will overwhelm you with their darkness. They will lie to you and whisper the only way to peace is death.
  
  But if you choose light, and keep holding on to the feelings that produce happiness, you will find peace restoring to you. You must act on things that cause you true joy, and follow that path.

  I know how you feel. We have gone through similar problems because we are not bums and the state favors to help bums rather than real hard working people on hard times. But realize this, you are doing everything you can to provide for your family.
  
  The state is no longer an entity of good. The programs it set up so long ago were meant to be good, but they have done the opposite. Instead of helping you get back on your feet, they punish you for trying. They encourage, rather than discourage, you to be like you said, a crack addict, domestic abuser, a lazy nothing.
  
  My husband had a wood splitter accident in Sept, and lost four of his fingers. After three months of fighting with the state for any help, he went back to work. They immediately declared him disqualified to be able to get help with prosthesis fingers (cheapest one $10,000) because he dared to work to provide for his family.

  @ tantalus: God will never punish his children to eternal torture, he is loving and kind and wants only the best for us, and grieves when there is sadness and heartache. He wants to wipe all our tears away and tell us everything is ok and live in paradise. That is what he created us for.
  
  But at the same time, we make our own choices. Because we have free will, because we are not robots, we can choose what path we will follow. If we want to be miserable, we will be.
  
  Hell was created not for people, but for Satan and his demons. He would like nothing better than to drag as many people down to hell with him, to be miserable like him. He thinks its funny that he gets to cause all the mischief, and then god to get the blame for it all.

  Being productive and useful in life is a great joy. Don’t worry about what you and to do verses what you want to do. If life is sucking out of you where you are, change it. I grew up in a forested area, and the only thing I wanted to do as a young adult is get out of there. So I traveled all around the country with various jobs, and was much happier for it.
  
  Working makes you happy. Learning how to do things makes you happy. I just got a job in which I will learn how to make furniture. I see it as an adventure, something I never tried before. Your skills are needed in this world. What are they? Maybe you don’t know yet, but by doing things you will learn.

  I have to admit we are all “prisoners of politicians” in that they control world events leading us right to the brink of WW3. And there is nothing you or I can do about it, because we are the “little people” of world events. I do really think that will change though, I think, as people become more aware of what is happening and it affects them personally.
  
  My parents were history buffs, especially WWII. While most kids watched cartoons, they would sit me down to watch documentaries. I found that at the beginning of WWII, no one was prepared to deal with Hitler because the sacrifice in doing so was so great. And his team was so much better organized because he really wanted to make war. But what they did was so horrible the people had to rise up and defeat him. We say it was “our team” that won, but in reality it was all the common people who realized the threat of darkness overtaking the world.
  
  We can and will do this again. We are in the beginning stages. But it will take an overwhelming amount of personal sacrifice to do this.
  
  Can we be happy and know all this? Yes we can.
  
  For I remember and pray:
  
  God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
  the courage to change the things I can;
  and the wisdom to know the difference.
