Not at all my friend. You just need to open an account with them, transfer some money from your bank (using your bank’s routing number and account number - located on your check.) Once setup is complete (takes a few days) you can begin placing orders for stocks. Its that easy.
A 401K is something that you put money away into each week out of your paycheck. Usually the money is invested by a company such as Smith Barney. They buy mutual funds (which are funds that own lots of stocks.)
It is totally separate and has nothing to do with eTrade. With eTrade you will need to fill out with all your information including your social security number since you can make money trading and that is taxable as far as the gov’t is concerned.
In the mean time check out finance.google.com and thestreet.com in order to start learning what the street is doing. You can even setup “fake” portfolios and practice trading there.

Don’t buy the penny stocks you keep getting email about. Trust me they are BS. The only reason you’re getting emailed is because someone else wants to unload them. Stick to real companies, watch Cramer, watch CNBC etc. Learn.
Look around you. Look at the products people are talking about.
To buy stocks - join eTrade or use an investment company tied into your online banking system. Most of them have this type of basic investing support.
Good luck!

While it could just be that you have pulled a muscle in your neck it’s also possible that there are other causes.
Look up Spinal Meningitis just to be safe.

I too suffer. I have researched myself for 20 years with no solution.
All I offer is a remedy. Excedrin Tension Headache (no asprin) works wonders for me. It takes 1 - 1 1/2 hours but almost always gets rid of them. I take them at the first sign and it prevents them from getting bad. Excedrin primarily has Caffiene and Tylonol. While the Tylonol is a pain killer, I never found it to work alone. The caffiene is said to “open” up blood vessels in the brain. I sometimes feel jittery from it but I almost always feel more alert. For years I thought it was a gimmecky medicine but it really does help me.
