4y = 18 + 6
4y = 24
y = 24/4
y = 6

Don’t worry. To be fair, almost everyone on this site has been feeling similar feeling to yourself. How did we all end up here? I know myself, five years ago, I was near suicide and just typed ‘help.com’ and here I am. I assume that is how most users got here. We know how you feel. But the professional help IS out there for you.. And if you truly want to get better, you will accept that help and be open, for you know that it will be of benefit. If you want to change, YOU are the one who has to make that change - it wont be done for you. The support will always be here however.

Aww thank you, like I said I’m not looking for answers, just a little guidance because for some reason my tutor didn’t go over it all.

Have I got this one right?

SOLVE 6x + 3 = 27

6x = 27 - 3
6x = 24
x = 24 / 6
x = 4

and there are a couple which I don’t understand… What is meant what is says:

a) SIMPLIFY 9x + 3y - 2x - 6y

does she want me to solve it? If not, how am I to simplify?

b) FACTORISE 12y - 3

I just don’t get that one at all.

Really should have done this in school and got my qualification then! Years down the line my brain isn’t quite fit for all this maths, haha.
