  Grundgle you are being too pedantic - where did I say I didn’t believe in definitions? Nor did I say definitions were not real. What I am saying is that there is a lot more to life situations than a mere definition of a word can imply. Let’s not forget that definitions are coined from popular accepted usage and are updated, deleted and sometimes completed re-written over time. And truly, if you are unsure go with your gut feelings - providing of course that that’s where your ideas come from! Show me three different dictionaries and you will see diferent definitions - so go figure who or what is the right one. That’s why there are so many variations for each word - and don’t forget the thesaurus too.

  There are two reasons that we are inundated with the graphic horror each and every day - the media are of the opinion that the majority of the watching masses love the salacious misery and gossip about who did what to whom/how many times/how badly etc etc. That’s the sickening reason.
  
  The other reason is that we, as a collective, need to be reminded that there are people out there who constantly need our love and helping thoughts every day - not just when a tragedy occurs. Every tragedy brings a wave of love and support for people, the one’s directly involved and the flow on - the helpers, the one’s left behind and so on. When TPTB find a way to keep those thoughts in our minds all the time we wont need these horrific and to us, senseless reminders that there is a dark place inside all of us. It’s up to us to decide to do the right or wrong thing. Taking life - our own or others is not justifiable. We just need reminding. The sad part is that it will be forgotten - think 9/11, it becomes part of history and we all need to make a change to make sure it, or anythig like it or this, doesn’t happen again.

  You’ll need a copy of your transactions on your oaccount to take to the bak/financial institution before they’ll talk to you. If they are anything like Australian bansk you’ll have to put in a claim to have the funds reimbursed and Im not sure how lonf that will take. If the acount shows the two charges then they have to reimburse you - any problems just refer it to the local ombudsman - sorry I don’t know if that trnslates to your system in the US.

• Regarding Depression
  

  I did not say “just being sad means you have clinical depression” - what I said was what had been relayed to me. If you ant to be pedantic and quote definitions from whatever sources you are actually denying some of the more fundamental aspects of being depressed. When you are at the bottom of a semingly bottomless black pit with no way out - and you believe your very breathing is causing unbearable pain and suffering to those around you then you contemplate the unthinkable. You will not find a description like that to define depression anywhere, Depression is case specific and cannot be lumped into a generalised definition. Anyone who wants to pontificate and say that all you need to do is pull yourself up and get back on the roller coaster has no true compassion or understanding of depressive illnesses. Accepting responsibility for one’s own thoughts, deeds and actions does not preclude the dark side of our very natures. lease don’t be hypocritical and spout definitions as a response to a very real illness. If it wasn’t there wouldn’t be so many “therapists” in business today!
