Also want to add…if the pup is actually harming your older dog and not just annoying him, he will fight back and show the puppy when to stop.
In fact, it may be a good idea NOT to keep them separated and let the older dog teach the pup the boundaries of play vs harm.
The older dog will not let the pup hurt him. He’ll either walk away from the pup or discipline him if he’s too rough.
2008-01-01 09:56:14 on is there a way to get help with funeral expenses?
Yeah, agree with that as well. Funerals are dreadfully expensive.
Just keep in mind too though, you don’t want to embarrass this man because of his financial situation. If you do want to do something more publicly, like utilizing a local radio station, please let him know that you are going to do it.
You don’t want him to hear on the radio that he is a poor old man and needs help, without him being aware of it in advance.
It’s a good idea though, just let him know you are interested in helping before you publicize it too much. :)
2008-01-01 09:50:07 on My dog’s behaviour.
The behavior you are describing is normal, healthy puppy behavior. Pups by nature “play fight”, nip at each other, and play “attack” games. This is how they learn to fight for real in the wild. Teaching them when they are young when they are getting too rough for a domestic animal is what tames them basically.
If your older dog does not want to participate in these games, you should probably just keep them separated. Some older animals don’t have the energy or the desire to play with pups, so there’s no reason why you can’t keep the pup away from him if you think the pup is bothering him.
2008-01-01 09:43:58 on is there a way to get help with funeral expenses?
That’s very admirable of you to do. I agree with the suggestons above. Also want to add, if you can find out which funeral home the man will be using, contact them and tell them you are interested in helping with the expenses and would like to get others involved. The funeral director may have some places you can contact, or give you an estimate of the dollar amount that will be needed so you and other community members can start raising some money.
I encourage you to try to get others in your community to help too. It’s amazing what you can bring in when the community comes together.
Good luck.

2007-12-31 20:55:00 on is it bad to want sex.
I think you should probably see someone if this is interfering with your daily life and occupying every thought to the point you can’t think of anything else.
2007-12-31 18:39:13 on hey!
No problem. Glad it helped.
2007-12-31 18:32:27 on hey!
You should have talked to your doctor about this! That’s why they call them doctors, instead of friends.
Anyway, maybe this will help you out:
http://contraception.about.com/od/pre…
No one should be taking any kind of birth control without being informed about it. There are side effects, possible danger, contradictions, etc. You need to understand these things before taking ANY prescription drug. Perhaps your doctor is to blame, if so, find one who is looking out for your health.
Good luck. (By the way, good choice in protecting yourself against pregnancy. Don’t forget the condoms though, depo doesn’t prevent the transmission of disease.)
2007-12-31 18:13:20 on ept test, how do i read it
Do you not have the box available? Usually the instructions for interpreting the results are included on the box or on an insert that is included.
2007-12-31 04:05:25 on anyone have any finacial advice on saving money?
Good luck. Don’t know your location but I know where I live there’s decent money to be made in bars. If I had the training I’d be working in one too!
I know this sounds bad, but if you rub their nose in the mess then they will stop pooing in that place.
100 percent disagree with this method of correction. It rarely works and is quite abusive if you ask me. Animals go where they wish by nature. Punishing them in this way sends a confusing message.
The other suggestions for redirecting her immediately to the litter box is a positive correction and often works, so try that too!
2007-12-29 23:05:36 on A Kitten problem.
Make sure her litter box is clean.
And keep the door to the bathroom closed so she can’t enter.
I had a cat who decided that urinating in the tub (directly on top of the drain though!) was somehow better than using a box. I couldn’t change her behavior, I just had to keep the door closed.
That’s all I can suggest though, maybe others will have better solutions.
One more thing…if it’s a new behavior, talk to your vet. Sometimes cats go potty in odd places when they are sick. So you might want to have her checked out.
2007-12-29 22:53:05 on Hey, I have a dog problem… My stepdad made these two steaks, and he marinated them in a box of kosher salt.
Yes, I believe your dog will be fine. My dog has ingested far worse and survived. They are amazing creatures sometimes. But do keep water available for him. If he needs it, he will drink it if it’s available.
And PLEASE tell your dad that salt is not used as a marinade. And kosher salt is used for curing meats and removing all liquids from them.
If he wants a marinade, tell him to head over to foodtv.com for some recipes. :D
