  Affective is not a word. Effective is an adjective that refers to something that betters or worsens a situation or object by what effect it has on that particular situation or object.
  
  Now there is a difference in affect and effect.
  
  Affect is used as a verb. Effect is used as an adjective. You can affect someone with your attitude and it could be effective.
  
  The easy way to look at this is:
  
  Affect is an action and effect is the result of that action.

  Time. Time and patience. It may take days, weeks, months, or even years. That is the best advice I can give you. In the mean time, just explain to him you aren’t ready to just be friends and you need some time to yourself. We all get better, it just takes some longer than others.

  Evansent.:) I know where she lives and have been there before, but it is half an hour away and she’ll be leaving for work in a bit. Our schedules tend to collide so actually physically seeing her is rare other than our current once a week meet up. :p
  
  Like I mentioned before, I just have to learn to be more patient. It just helps to get it out there and hear what others have to say.

  Thank you Lawliet. It’s just a bit different and I think that is why I am having a harder time than I normally would. All my past girlfriends did not strive for anything and were never busy so they would send me a thousand messages a day. With this one she is working hard to make something of herself, being a major reason I am so attracted to her, and because of that doesn’t message back as often. I will be in the same boat come January having even less time to spend with her. I am just having a hard time getting used to delayed responses. I’ll be alright and I am sure that I will see her this weekend and can talk to her about it then. I have to build my patience and become stronger because it will be extremely important come January when I may only see her every few weeks.

  Put the fun things aside for now and focus on the important things, but don’t get too tied down that you don’t have time for the occasional resting period. If anything will hurt your GPA it’s stress.

  Thank you guys so much I appreciate your responses. It worked out for the better after I talked with her. We are together and have come to an agreement that works out for the both of us.
