  I guess my problem is, for most of my teenage years there were more pressing issues for my parents to deal with. They have four children and I didn’t want to be a burden. I saw what pills did to my brother and how much pain the whole depression was on my parents. I didn’t want that to happen to me. I have only told one person that I cut myself. My brother, who then told me I was being stupid and that I only had a little while of high school left and soon I’d forget all about this, and sometimes I think I might. Maybe it’s just my high school mindset, but other times I’m scared that this will just continue. But he told me not to get involved with a therapist or meds because it wasn’t worth it. So I guess I thought maybe I should do what he says.

  well no one knows who I am here. There is a different dynamic. Besides there are people here that don’t hide their monsters away. I’ve met a lot of judgmental and condescending people on here. But I’ve also met people who understand, who feel for me and know what I’m going through. I have met people who are willing to share their stories with me and are interested in how my day is going and how I’m holding up. I find help.com as a place to just let it out and if people choose to be mean, they’re not exactly helping, but they can’t do anything about me letting it out..

  I have tried talking to a school counselor I didn’t work. Or we’ll I might have if I had been more i guess outward with my feelings but the more people that got involved the more turtle hiding in a shell I felt. I didn’t want so many people to be involved and I didn’t want my parents telling me what was going on with me wasn’t serious. I just needed one person who was going to take me seriously and not accuse me of being suicidal, or worse ship me off to the crazy bin which is what my school tried to do. I am not crazy. I don’t even have serious problems. I’m just hollow and hardened. My shell has turned to steel.

  you’re more than this. you’re a wonderful person inside and out and people will forgive you for your flaws. I’m so proud of you for being strong and hanging on and that’s what you have to keep doing. I know it’s hard and I can’t promise you anything but don’t let anything get you down. keep your head, don’t go beneath the water. relax, take deep breaths, don’t let things overtake you. because if you can get through this than you’re stronger than you think. just keep going, as dory says “keep swimming”
