  Try visiting your local ICU, cemetery, and mental institution. And think how much you have to be thankful for.

  Every single human on this planet has the capacity to do things, right or wrong. Every human is given the free will to make decisions. There are egoistic drives inside us, and then there are the ‘heart’ drives or spiritual drives. Listening and always ‘obeying your thirst’ turns the strength over to the ego and the ‘power’ of the heart and spirit diminishes. 
  
  It sounds like you want to control the egoistic or animalistic drives inside you, and that’s the first step. 
  
  Humans have the capacity to become worse or lower than animals, or become higher than the angels. If you believe in God, then you must believe that humans or man is the chosen creation above all else. Everything was ordered to bow to man, and man was created by God to bow to Him. This is why Satan rebelled in the first place, because he followed the drive of his animal self instead of the higher and better path: obedience to God. And this is why he ‘fell from Grace”. Think that each step you take to step on your selfish egoistic tendencies , is a step you take toward strengthening your spirit. The fact that you are reaching out for help is that inherently you believe , your spirit , knows that to follow this drive is wrong. So then do the opposite of what the animal self wants. And you will get stronger. In Sufism, this is the crux of the concept, and we are constantly attacked by our ego, satanic whisperings, the desires of this world, and our own animal drives. We must remember that this, all of this, is only a test. And how you perform on this test is crucial to where you end up in life, just like school. But school is for this life, and this life is short lived and temporary. There is an eternal life, and how you perform here in the testing ground will indicate how you do over there.
  
  So think that You will die one day, and most likely, without warning. Think what you are bringing to your grave, as thats where the first accounting will take place. And if you are comfortable bringing the deed that you decide on doing, to your grave and in front of God, His Angels and Jesus, then by all means, do it. If you’re not, then take a different path. Always remember that it is you and only you who will be accountable for the choices you make. Leave what everyone else is doing. Concentrate on YOU. 
  
  Start to eliminate the distractions, live a physically, mentally, and spiritually clean lifestyle, and ask for help. you came to help at help.com
  Now ask help from God, sincerely. How do you show sincerity to God? Just like you do in anything else. People spend time and effort in the things they are sincere with. You racked your brain and you sat and typed out your need on help.com because you were desperate for help.  Now go to God, in the night, bow your head, and ask with the same sincerity to bring you out from this desire and to something that is better for you. Do it every night with this same sincerity for at least a week. Keep going , and if you can, do it in the day every time you get a break. Continue to remember God. It WILL help you. You just have to be sincere with it, through intention and action. Hope this helps!
