  Sometime love requires sacrifice. You love him, no doubt, but are you just providing a fall back place for him to “sleep it off” when he chases after someone else and eventually gets kicked out because he has no need for commitment? Love is not always the selfish “I want him”. It is sometimes doing what is best for the other person. Consider that with this guy that may be making yourself strong and able to say “I love him, but he doesn’t love me” and experience the joy that statement can contain. Being strong means not being a throw rug. There are many people who have no one that they love and that is truly sad. Having been in your shoes, my heart goes out to you.

  Sometimes love requires sacrifice. Since he appears to have run away, consider that the best thing you can do for him is let him go and get on with your life (the sacrifice). Put it in your book of life that you loved and lost, never forget that, and don’t stop searching for what is best for you. But don’t chase after someone who seems to be saying no. If he changes his mind, be open but don’t wait for that.
