  To me God is every where and he does not need a Church to show up in or need a man standing behind a pulpit telling us how to Live our lifes to be present with us.
  
  Reading your Bible and going to Church are just some way’s of getting close to God.
  
  I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some churches God doesn’t want to go into!
  
  If you seek a close relationship with God then do what you would do if you wanted a close relationship with a person. Spend quality time alone reading scripture, talking and praying to him…….he is there and cares about the simple things in our lifes. Don’t force feed yourself with Church and religious rituals…..and feel that those are the only ways to get close to God because it is not true. God is as much with you right now as he is when you are sitting in Church!
  
  Spend time alone with God, talk to him, walk with him and know he is there. Go sit on a park bench and say Good Morning Lord and look around you watch the people walking by and the birds flying from tree to tree. Watch the squirells run up the tree. God is every where and you can get as close to him as you like. He is not going anywhere special that you have to follow him. He is with you right now this very moment.
  
  Talk to him…..say hey God whats up? He is there!
  
  When someone comes and sit’s next to you say Good Morning and smile! And when they start to share with you a story listen and when they walk away pause……and know God is right there with you!
  
  When I was Married and raising my children I use to get up early in the morning and I would put on my silky nice pj’s brush my teeth comb my hair then go down stairs make a cup of tea and go sit in front of my fireplace. Sometimes I would just quietly mediatate and other time’s I would sing praise song’s, read and write. This was my alone time with God. This was the time I sat aside every day to seek him and spend time alone with him. This was the time that I felt the closest to him. This was his time alone with me. This was where I would quietly listen to the Spirit of God speak to my heart.
  
  This gave me so much peace and my day would go by so peacefully no matter what happened that day! Any time through out the day I could quietly say thank you Lord and I knew he was right there.
  
  As much as you want to be close to God he to wants to be close to you! He wants to hang out with you and know that you know that he is there.
  
  God really is every where! It just takes a willing heart to see and feel the presence of God!

  Oh my goodness sweety…..I’m am so very sorry for the pain you are feeling right now! I honestly have to think about what I want to say to you. This is not the normal relationship situation at all. I feel some what obligated now that I have read your post and can feel the pain in your words.
  
  Briefly about me: I did 10 years on the outside of Prison Walls with my Brother I loved dearly inside Prison. Doesn’t matter why he was there but he was. And I was there for him those 10 years. I started a publishing Company as well dealing directly with Prisoner’s. I have written to many through out the years dealing with my Publishing Company and aside from my brother I wrote and talked to many other Prisoner’s. So first hand I have learned quite a bit about the minds of people who are in Prison and come out!
  
  First off a letter from someone on the outside is like Heaven Opened A Window…when they hear their name called out for mail or it is dropped in their cell it is like a breath of air. I can’t even find the words I’m trying to describe this with. Anyway’s prisoners learn how to become basically Con’s when they are behind those walls. And will do anything for someone to write them. They will live life through you. I have no doubt he wrote some of the most beautiful letter’s you could ever imagine a guy could write. They learn what to say, how to say it and how to play it out like they are soooo in love with you. The last thing they want is to upset a connection on the outside because that would only take away that small piece of freedom from your letter’s. You are their world basically.I have no doubt you have spent most of your money on phone calls and would not be surprised if you sent him money as well!
  
  I’m not saying you were conned but in a way you were. And I’m not saying that all his words were lie’s but many were. They become good at this. Think about it…it’s all they have. I feel for him as well because I know to well what he has experienced behind those walls for the last 10 years. And to be honest for the sake of you ever telling him I will not even touch on what he has gone through and what has happened to him.
  
  To be honest I don’t feel I can say anymore right now…this is hard!
  
  I want you to know that him ending it with you had nothing to do with you at all.PERIOD! You did nothing wrong! There is nothing you will be able to do to get back what you thought you had with him! Why? Because it was not real. It was real to you but not him! I have no doubt that during the time he wrote to you, you were in a world of the greatest love you have ever had or thought could exist. I’m sure he made you feel amazing and like you were the most beautiful girl in the World. This is what they do and they have plenty of time on their minds to think of all these things to say! He used you and now he is out and wants nothing to do with you! He got what he wanted when he was in Prison and that was someone to write to him. Wow…….I want to call him a jerk and it sounds like he is. But I feel sorry for him a swell! Ya he put himself there I get that but even so at 16 Prison is no place a young boy would ever want to be. And things happen that they will never talk about and will fight the rest of their lifes to forget.
  
  Please go on with you life. You are a good lady and deserve a love that is real! Please do not write to any more guys still behind bars that know him trying to find answer’s because they to will try and suck you up! Stay away and stop asking about him. Think of this. If he really loved you the way you thought he did a fight one simple fight…argument what ever it was because he was being a rude jerk as well would not ruin a relationship if it was any where close to being what you thought it was.
  
  Stay away from him, his family, his friends and anyone who knows of him or about him. Stop asking and stop listening! Stop!
  
  Take some time to heal. You are going to feel so betrayed and when you realize this was all just something to pass his time in Prison don’t feel like such a fool. Because these guys learn behind those walls how to suck people in and will suck the life right out of you if you let them.
  
  This is completly differant then if you were in a relationship with him before he went in and knew he really loved you. You got to know him in the Prison and that was where your relationship started. I wanted to say this in case someone reads this and have a loved one in Prison that is in a differant situation then you are in!
  
  Good Luck! Be Strong and stop tearing your self apart. Non of this will make sense until you realize what really just happened with this guy! Sorry for your hurt!

  OP-This is exactly why I rarely will jump in on a topic of ppl’s faith’s it will go in so many direction’s….!
  
  First of all I read Ozy’s reply and she has a very valid point!
  
  Secound of all as for your post I agree 100% based on all the Atheist’s I personally have met and gotten to know. I did not even talk of my faith to them but they would go on rants about religion and very judgemental and rude when they found out what I believed in…that has been my first hand experience. PERIOD!
  
  As for what Ozy said above I have also experienced the same from ppl of religion…even thou I myself believe in God and have a personal relationship with who God is to me…..I have seen the same rudness with Christian’s or “so called Christian’s”.
  
  No wonder someone who is searching for truth in their life’s get’s so confused and over whelmed in their search!
  
  My perspective on this is everyone has a right to decide what they do or don’t believe in and NO ONE has the right to force their belief onto another person or be RUDE because they don’t believe the same.
  
  I was not raised with any faith or in a Church….in my eearly 20’s I found what I was searching for and when I found it no one could have convinced me any differant. Because it was Personal and Real TO ME!
  
  I raised my children in the faith and truth I found but I also told them and gave them the opportunity to search for them selfs. I did not want them to follow me but to follow their on Heart’s, and of course my pray was they would find what I had.
  
  I was out with my 22 year old 2 weeks ago we went out dancing, had a few drinks and where walking down the street when we came up on ppl in the middle of the street with a mic preaching the Bible and holding sign’s up. My Daughter grabbed my arm and pulled me back. She then approached the guy on the mic and stood there for 10 minute’s waiting to talk to him. Not once did he look in her eye’s or acknowledge her standing there. She was very POLITE! Finally a lady walks over to her and pulls her away and started preaching to her.
  
  Of course by now I’m right at her side and out of respect and curiosity I stood there and waited for her to speak. Finally she spoke up and said to the Lady.
  
  My Mother has taught Bible Study in our home for 10 year’s, she Loves the Lord and has taught me the Bible from a child until now and you mean to tell me that her and I are going to HELL because we came out to have a few beer’s and dance!
  
  Ya! Wow! I gave my daughter the respect to speak her feelings and boy did she!
  
  The lady twice her age did not know what to say and just started repeating scripture’s. My daughter looked at her and said “you have a good night and I will pray for you”!
  
  As we walked away she said Mom thank you for sharing God with me as a child and I’m so glad you never acted or preached to us kids like they were doing. She said don’t they know that God want’s us to be good people and love each other not condem them to HELL because they go out and have fun!
  
  I just smiled and said I’m proud of you tonight…now lets get a shot and dance!
  
  OP-The point is ppl are Rude Period! Just because they are an atheist or a Christian does not make them any more less rude! There are RUDE ppl in all religion’s, faiths or no faith’s……so it’s not what they are or who they are or what they believe in that makes them rude.
  
  THEY ARE JUST RUDE PEOPLE PERIOD…..And has nothing to do with what they do or don’t believe in……ppl just seem to want to point out like you did here that so and so is rude because they are an atheist….it has nothing to do with it!
  
  So as far as atheist being rude ppl Yes some are….just like some Christian’s are and most difenantly some ppl on here are just RUDE!
  
  The Atheist who is Rude could become a Christian…then they would be a Rude Christian….

  Honesty is always the best….but I understand the feeling of not wanting to hurt someone also.
  
  Is there anyway that you could make it seem like it is her idea?
  
  When you break it off make it sound like it has nothing to do with her…tell her she is a great girl and won’t have any problems meeting another guy…tell her you just aren’t ready for a relationship right now and you can’t help but feel that way!
  
  Hopefully she will respect what you tell her……don’t lead her on after this by trying to be friends that will only make it harder.
