• (2 votes) How can I overcome the fear of driving?
  

  There is only one way to deal with fear and that is to look it straight in the eye and do what you are afraid of doing anyway.
  
  By, the way, I understand how you feel and I’ve been where you are. Back in 1999 when we had moved from Canada to Australia, I had stopped driving because the traffic system was reverse to what it was in Canada. I was also undergoing very poor health at that time and so I did not drive for almost 2 years after reaching Australia.
  
  That fear of driving was within me. I have been involved in many accidents in my life, even though I’ve rarely been the driver in the car. That, plus the issues above, and the fact that I am not a natural born driver or navigator really propelled the fear in me.
  
  It took one of my friends to literally push me in the car and say to me, “Go home and if you have any problems on the way, call me and I will send help. I did it, with trembling hands and my mind playing all kinds of games with me, but I managed to go and kept going till I reached home.
  
  And you know what, I was going through that fear again when I moved back to India and knew I needed to be able to drive. But the traffic here is such that it scares you. Anyway, I have conqured that fear even at my age. I’m sure you can do it too.
  
  So that’s what you need to do too. Just get in the car and start it up and keep driving. It might help if you have someone along with you the first few times. All the best just keep going - driving is very important now a days.

  unfortunately, scammers and conpeople are every where waiting to grab money from innocent people. I too was in a similar position as your mum, but, I realize that I need to work to make ends meet. Your mum is lucky she has a house she can sell and buy a smaller cheaper one somewhere. She has a pension and she has a son who cares. However, she is not that old that she cannot start again - and by starting again, she will keep herself busy and positive.
  
  So I suggest, you let her know that you are there with her. Stay with her and share expenses, but don’t molly coddle here. Let her grow from this experience and put her talents to use somewhere.
  
  If she is interest I can tell her of a fabulous business opportunity online - it is not a get-rich-quick scheme, however she can get incredibly wealthy if she does the right things to bring her business up.:)

  I’m sure if it was conventional for men to take their wives names and be subjugated to being a second rate citizen because of their sex - this convention would have changed centuries ago. It’s time for women and men to realize that we are two parts of one whole. Without one the other is incomplete. Men are good at some things and women at others. Together we could create a very happy world, but, if men keep trying to put us women in what they call is our place, then the two sexes will always be at odds with each other.
  
  Both sexes need to be given equal standing in the world and at home to create happiness on earth.:)

  Somu93 know this - you did right by all of you (husband included) with the actions you took. Some men and women need a tight kick before they learn a good lesson. Others, unfortunately never ever learn.
  
  Life is too short to be lived in misery. And we all deserve to be happy. Your girls, your parents and you will be a lot happier without the abusive man in your life. Should he ever truly change (we wish) then it would be for you to decide if you still want him to be a part of your life or not. Maybe by then you would have realized that you are too good for him anyway and that your are happier without him.:)

  All the best of wishes for you that New Year may bring a change for you and that your life really picks up for the better. Just know that ups and downs will always be there in life, to challenge us to grow. Take it as a challenge and refuse to be defeated. That’s what winners are made off. We all have winners within ourselves, we just need to let them out. Go for 2013 being the turning point in your life — for the better.:)

  I don’t think its a high power people issue, its a moral issue more than anything else. Unfortunately, it takes all kinds to make the world and these days the serials that are shown the world over make cheating on a spouse on the top of their agenda and so its like that that it becomes such a common-place thing that people think nothing of it. If only TV would clean up its act and show less violence, cheating, etc. then the world too might conform to better moral standards.
