• Gosh i’m 19 and look like 15 what should i do?
  

  When you are 40 you will look as if you are 35..this is a good thing! But, I’m sure as of now, it doesn’t seem like it’s a good thing. Attitude is everything…if you think you are 19, and you project a certain maturity and confidence..which I realize is very difficult when you feel so not pretty….but if you always dress nicely (I mean in clean, unwrinkled and well fitting clthes), have clean and shiny hair, and take care of your skin, (don’t go to bed with make up on,drink lots of water, don’t use soap to wash your face) exercise regularly, even if it is just walking, or using stairs instead of elevators etc. Do things that interest you! and that make YOU feel good…and don’t worry about what a 19 year old boy “thinks” they DO outgrow such silliness…and you really don’t want to date a guy who is so self absorbed anyway…it’s his loss!

  Have you asked your friend how he feels after he cuts on himself? There are several reasons/motivations for self mutilation. #1 is physical pain overrides emotional pain: this is usually described as a sense of relief etc. #2 Is a way of confirming or resolving an existential crisis…i.e., a way to confirm your existence…especially if one disassociates..it is a way to get back into yourself #3 feel a differentiation or separation from another person, #4 a combination of the above. How does he self mutilate? Does he cut on his arms, legs..what instrument does he use, how does he ‘hide’ his cuts…Telling the guidance counselor is a good idea, not being too reactive, or upset at your friend is helpful too. I often give my clients very thick rubber band to wear, and encourage them to snap the soft inner forearms to replace cutting….if this pain doesn’t ‘do it for them’ then the issue is more risky and serious, and really requires adult, professional help…good luck!

  Just take a deep breath, pay them $100 a month, then when the bills get to horrendous…file for bankrupcy due to medical bills…..over 60% of Bankrupsy’s are for medical costs. But as long as you are paying them regularly…they can’t bother you…don’t think of it as a bill so much as “rent” you are renting your health..or as a health premium.

  Of course you may call me Pat..or Pati whatever you wish. I started out talking characters in the comic strip I posted for you.. LittleDee….
  For the rest, with medications (and maturity) things change…if they have you on the right medications. It is past my bedtime, and you seem to be in good, loving hands here, take care of yourself. I will quote a line from one of my favorite movies…Tombstone: “There is no “normal” life Wyatt, there is just life..” Sleep well dear.
  
  p.s. or your step-mother is just mean and uncaring…in either case, you are well within your right to simply ignore her…this sort of person you don’t need!

  Blake has taken Dee to a “club” meeting…if you wander through the weeks & month you will meet Vachel and Ted…it’s pretty sweet. I’m not sure, and this is from a real serious distance here..but you seem to be describing a panic attack…I could be wrong…you will be as “normal” as the rest of us dear! Panic Attacks Bipolar, depression…is very similar to say, diabetus….you simply “manage” it, rather than ‘cure’ it. It’s all a chemical thing…one in the pancreas..the other in the brain.
