  Give her space, but be sure to be there for her when she asks for it ( which might not happen, actually), so it wouldn’t hurt to bring it up first, gently.
  Encourage her to find something to replace self harm with, that isn’t as dangerous.
  Don’t focus just on the injury itself, because that isn’t the real problem. The problem is the issue that makes her want to self harm.
  Don’t expect change to happen quickly; and don’t hold on to any expectation that your friend can stop self-harming just because you want her to. She needs to want it too, its the first step to recovery.Find her a reason to stop.
  Tell her it’s ok to FEEL.People who self-harm are purposely blocking emotions, as a defense mechanism, and it’s not easy to leave it once you started.
  Don’t be critical, it will help her feel loved , instead of making her hate herself even more.But still be honest with her.
  Don’t blame her, respect her right to do it, therefore don’t make her promise to stop.
  
  And above all.. just listen when she needs it.

  Eating Disorders are ilnesses just like any others…
  People dont ask for it.
  People may want to become thinner, they may be aiming for something that in their eyes is healthy, but I don’t really think their original goal was to become anorexic or bulimic.
  Once they actually realize that they have it, it’s harder to stop, they are too afraid of food now and becoming “fat” again. You can’t blame people for their phobias can you though?
  Not eating may be a choice… but think of whatever phobia any of you might have that disagree and imagine if the thing you dread the most would be something you have to do 3x a day, for the rest of your life…
  You’d probably rebel, wouldn’t you?
  But perhaps you do not have a phobia that is as HUGE as food for anorectics. You might think.. if it’s a matter of life and death, I’d do it!
  You’d think you have strong willpower to do that. For people with eating disorders not eating is the biggest symbol of self control and will power.
  It’s more important to them than being healthy.

  Actually hun, when you do ABC, teh amount of calories shifting so radically every day is said to make your metabolism faster, right? Thats bullsh*t , trust me. It makes you a lot more prone to binging, and make your metabolism lower really.. You will be more likely to hold onto the weight when you eat more. In the end, you’ll end up nowhere.
  The truth is , a starvation diet leads to uncontrollable binging.. That’s when your brain takes control over your body, and you have no idea how or why or when but you eat crazy amounts. You think you can control it? You won’t. All anorexics I’ve talked to have gone through this.
  Like said. It’s much better to lose a steady amount of 0.5 kg/week (even thoguh taht seems liek so little now) for a couple of months than to lose 4 kg then gain it back then lose 5 and repeat and end up a year later with a very serious damage done to yoru body and the same weight anyways. Radical is never good.

  Welcome to self-destruction. Tell me, is that really the reason you are doign this? Deep inside? Cause I know its all weight, and calories and fat , and talkign about being thin and delicate and lookign good, but underneath, I think you do know that an emaciated body is pretty disgusting. And thats what youll look like, and still feel fat. Theres no stopping. And there’s nothign glamorous behind what you’re doing either. I think you realise it won’t make you happy, won’t make your social life better. Eventually I think you DO relaise that this only leads to nastynasty things. People run away from you or you run away form them. It alienates you. Loneliness like you’ve never experienced. Your teacher might notice, they might not. Probabaly won’t to be frank, until you suddenly get so thin you die.
  But before you get to do that, a long long road of self destruction brings nothing but pain and ugliness. I do hope she does notice though, maybe you’ll get the help you obviously need.
  There are better things to do with your life than fast. I know teh fasting “high”, trust me I do, but I also know the feelign of beign high off life, and THAT is much better. Because whatever is happenign in your life right now, will pass, but anorexia will probabaly always leave behind a part of itself in you. The longer you stay in this, the bigger a part of it will stay.

  I wrote up a really long reply and just as I hit post I crashed :(
  hmm. I think You need a new coping mechanism: art, music, exercise, perhaps buy a punching bag and use that whenever you wish to cut. Eventually the craving will grow weaker. Whenever you wish to cut just remind yourself of how bad it will be in the long run.
  perhaps theer is a friend of relative in real life who you could tell about this who would provide mental support for you and keep you strong?
  WHY do you think you’re a bad person? is there any particular reason for this or is it just a constant feeling?
