I forget that people often refuse to follow the point of the question unless it is specifically outlined for them and they are guided step-by-step to where they need to be. Normally I outline the path. But people don’t seem to like that.
In the future, if you don’t want to play the game, stay home.

That’s about right, seeing as I would get neither one anyway.[/quote]
Funny thing about hypothetical questions, no one said you’re get either. The point is which one you WANT. It’s about the priority you put on each value, while putting you in the position of forsaking one for the other. Which is the more important, the more appreciated, the more sought-after?
This really isn’t that difficult.

Is it possible to have just ONE post that doesn’t involve half-veiled religious propaganda in the replies?

HelpCon is an idea I tried to make a reality about two years ago. We’re just too spread out.
2009-12-02 12:47:49 on why is it that George w Bush did whatever he wanted
Something I noticed in the Bush Jr. years.
People were criticizing the economy. Rightfully so, I suppose, we hit the largest national deficit we’ve ever had. However, in every debate I was in, the response from the staunch republican was along the lines of, “Well a president’s changes aren’t immediate. It can take about a decade for changes to be noticed.”
Okay, I can buy that. I’m no economics expert, but the concept makes sense. I’ll assume this is true. Why, then, are all of the same people now clawing for blood because Obama hasn’t managed to fix the mess he inherited in his one-year-young term? Much more interesting, this theory would mean that the economic boom in Clinton’s term was Bush Sr. and Reagan’s doing, just as the crash in Bush Jr.’s stint was due to Clinton.
If that’s so, why chew into Obama so hard, so soon? How can they expect his changes to show until sometime after 2016?

I was making an analogy to illustrate why people feel the way they do when Obama is criticized. How would I logically back up as fact what is really an opinion?
I’ll continue later. I have to head home, now. See you then.

In grade school math, there is a common phrase, mostly designed to keep children from guessing, copying, and simply making things up because they think it sounds right.

The media, for the most part, reports NEWS. Certain channels have opinion shows that slant one way or the other. These are not news programs. In general, what you hear on the news is not a fabrication to piss people off.

Let’s say we work in a museum. We work in shifts. The guy before me builds a great toothpick sculpture for a display. I come in for my shift, and destroy it. It’s now your shift, and you have to repair it. Is it YOUR fault for the state that it’s in, and do YOU deserve the criticism for it being broken?
