2009-10-01 21:26:16 on I am 19 years old and a sophomore in college.
I think from a parents perspective, since they are paying for your schooling, they don’t want to see anything get in the way of your education. They are clearly aware that a love relationship could do just that. They want to see you on your own, before you enter right into a living relationship with a guy (even if they love the guy, they want you to wait at least till you graduate with your degree). They hold the purse strings and that is a heavy threat, but also an unreasonable one. You could do school all by yourself, and go into debt with student loans… you could get a job to support your living arrangements. You can talk to them about all this, it just depends how much you want to see this guy and how much you are willing to pay for it.
2009-10-01 21:20:36 on October is National Book month here in the USA … so, what are you reading?
I agree Nellie… read it when you have the time because you may not want to put it down. I sure didn’t (I read it in 3 days, and I’m a slow reader). I don’t know if you can tell, but I really loved the book! :)
2009-10-01 17:24:03 on Hi, im Arthur and im 14years old.
so sounds like you are the “fun” in dys-fun-ctional in your family. You’ve make your choice, so now you have to life with it. It’s a harsh lesson, but it’s one we all learn sometime in our lives.
2009-10-01 17:04:34 on I want to switch birth control.
Birth control is not a fashion nor a fav food… birth control is a drug… you should take what the doctor says will work best for your body. Yes, all drugs are different, but you must take what works best for you.

Interesting… they pay for your birth control (even now?) How much more do they pay for? Many parents feel that if they are still paying for everything, then you are still a child in their eyes. This is the hard part of many college students. You live a complete adult life except with your parents. This is what I mean having a calm and mature conversation with them. Be up front with your feelings…. but don’t talk about your feelings; don’t say, “mom and dad, I feel like…” Say almost anything other than that because your feelings don’t mean anything to them; your still a child and they know better. It’s your job to talk them calmly as an adult and let them know where you are coming from. It’s time for you to start setting your own boundaries that they can respect. I’m glad you don’t want to sneak around their back, that really would not serve you in this case.
2009-10-01 16:51:25 on I have not seen my husband in 19 years.
see a lawyer. But I think you have to post an add in the paper if you have no way of getting a hold of him. (saw it in a movie… don’t know if that’s true).

I do however respect your desire to get their “blessing”. An open conversation, calm and mature needs to happen.

Do you live in America? The bottom line if you do live in America… you don’t even need to ask your parents.
2009-10-01 16:45:00 on how do i get rid of my mom and sister how do i get them out of the house i need to throw up i ate to much.
Bulimia, does not necessarily guarantee that you will loose weight. You can, however pretty much count on creating ulcers in your throat, perhaps even rupture it. You can pretty much guarantee that your teeth will rot out, and your breath will be putrid. You can pretty much guarantee that you will become malnourished and parts of your body will begin to shut down. Seek help elsewhere. You will not find help in your vomit, you will not find help in the blood flowing from your veins - you will ONLY find more pain there.

Why did your parents tell you why they do not support your going? Please don’t tell me what you you think is their response… I’m only interested in what they TOLD you.
2009-10-01 16:11:28 on im 13 and got my period about 3 months ago, im new to it and i havent gotten it in a whole month, is something wrong wit me?
your hormones will fluctuate for a bit. It’s different for every girl. Your cycle may even go away completely if you are really physically active. On an average though love_lost is right, give it a year.

2009-10-01 13:36:49 on My boss has officially crossed the line.
yeah… I get your frustration. I’m sorry to hear that your employer can seem to afford more help, but you will need to get used to that. Everyone is downsizing and streamlining. This means fewer people are doing more and more jobs. It’s part of Western society. You are right however. Your frustration is at a point where I think you need to find a new job. I wish you luck. Don’t quit this job though until you find a new one. Try to make this one work for you the best you may until then. Remember to take care of yourself; ultimately YOU come first. If you didn’t get a night off for your birthday… then do something special for yourself on a night you DO have off. Don’t let the rigid way your boss does things impact how you feel. Remember, we might not always have a choice in what happens, but we DO ALWAYS have a choice in how we respond to what happens :)
2009-10-01 13:27:09 on Aliens.
Very real. Trust me I live in California, and we see them all the time here. Just go to any Emergency room, and the place is full of them. The farming communities of Southern California is a breeding ground for them. I can’t say that I’ve had a really really close encounter with one, but I think I have one some money the other day over at Home Depot.

To be angry at a boss, or angry/frustrated/burn out on a job is not a good place to be. You will be poppin’ those Xanax for a while if you don’t correct this issue. I too (like Nick) curious if your boss gave you a reason? It might be time to find a new job.
