if it is power you are looking for in your relationship, it’s not the best of relationships… why would anyone be such a thing?
Try explaining that to Obama.
LOL
Most people don’t like change, and I believe that comes from a sense of fear. Fear of the unknown mostly… but even if you know about the change the differences are enough to cause a fear of failed expectations. Major Joe provided a truth however. Everything always changes. The hair on our head is a complete new head of hair roughly every two years. Not one hair existed two years ago. Resistance to change tends to make things go much more rough. This is why some people believe that change is never a good thing… that problems always come from change. If you try to stop a boulder from rolling down the hill, you will eventually get run over by the boulder. If however you step aside, and let the boulder roll… you’ll be OK. Never stand in front of an avalanche expecting that you can stop it from happening.
Richard Cor de Lyon, I agree that the elves crossing over symbolizes the transition from a magic based world of elves and other mystical creatures to the end of magic and the dominance of men. But Frodo is (essentially) just plain dying!
Yes, Frodo is dying, but I still think on a philosophical level, he believes in an afterlife… so he’s not “just” dying but rather beginning a new life with his friends the elves etc.
It would make for an interesting novel… where did that boat end up docking, and what was the world like where the elves, Gandalf and the hobbits end up. Would it be like Valhalla… Olympus?

they do believe in death i assume…according 2 the song at the end of the film:
why do u weep?!what are these tears upon ur face?!soon u will see all of ur fears will pass away, safe in my arm…U R ONLY SLEEPING….
sleep is the sign of death in literature…
Yes… but did Tolkien write that song? Of course they “believe” in death… any sane person would… but death is something very VERY different to an elf that is virtually immortal… and Gandalf who IS immortal… and the Hobbits who lived like forever!

have you tried looking on the internet?? William Doane is a fairly common name … http://www.whitepages.com/search/Find…
Google turns up hits… and facebook does too. You’ll probably get hits on just about anyplace you look. The only solid way to find him (and it probably wont take very long unless he’s trying not to be found), is to hire a Private investigator.

The afterlife.
I don’t think any of those characters believe in death. The afterlife to them was merely a new beginning. I believe the message that Tolkien wanted to send was that the time of elves and magic has died, and it is not the time of man. If I’m not mistaken he even wrote that in his novels. All those people passed on to their next existence apart from the world of men.

Maybe I spoke too soon… and I don’t want to underplay anyone that went the extra mile to get a PhD. A doctorate in any field is not easy. I was just thinking there’s alot more chemistry in getting an MD… I could be mistaken.

lots easier to become a Dr. of Psychology, than to be a MD. And unless you’re grades are what is driving your financial aid… your patients don’t know (and usually don’t care) what your grades where… If you graduate and get licensed… isn’t that good enough?
2009-10-14 13:05:20 on why dont guys like me?
It terms of average development you’re not missing anything. People are staying home longer… even into their late twenties early thirties. People are definitely not having committed relationships until their thirties and forties. There’s been a slip in all of these things by a full decade since the 40’s. In the 40’s, twenty something men and women were buying their homes and starting their families. Women were married and pregnant by 25… it’s not that way anymore. Stop stress over what you don’t have and start being grateful for what you do. It can make life a little easier.
