we got dsl from earthlink. not good as you
know. then again, every business we deal
with is ripping us off. My bank gave me an
overdraft fee even though we had overdraft
protection, xbox won’t give me a working
console and expects me to pay for repairs,
the list goes on and on. its a pitty

Yep, I know the exact story. Same thing happened to me… 10 hours on the phone and 3rd or 4th guy fixes it in minutes… It was a blessing for me to get off dial up onto dsl.

I know what you mean about their support.
Had to call them a few days ago for some
router support. First dude says I have to
call who makes the router to fix it, yet
person 3 solves it in 10 mins…go figure.

Thanks Ken… I forgot about the audits for a min. I used Earthlink for years, but they couldn’t bring DSL to where I am in the East Bay, so I had to change to SBC. It’s all good, Earthlink support was getting on my nerves… I couldn’t understand Hindi.

OK Ken… I suppose that the closer of my post means that someone there feels I was advertising. I am unhappy that my post could be closes WITHOUT any word to me regarding the review. I am in the dark as to specifics of what was wrong… and I, like anyone else…. would need specifics if they were to play by the rules. As we discussed… I did not feel I was breaking the rules… this site obviously did… so now I need to know specifically why… AND you CANNOT say that I was breaking the TOS, because I have already supplied ample contra perspectives to that! Specifics please!

(for the first shout)Believe me, I want our admin to look into that post/user as well. Most of the posts we have with adds are pretty straight up as you may know. “Buy this, sign up here” posts from new
users. When it comes to things like what you two have I really am not sure how to handle it.

(for the second shout)Like I said, I’m not sure how it fits in. I find your logic in why it should be allowed to be right on. For now you can leave them up. I would encourage you to leave the admin a shout so that in the future when someone says something about it you can go “this is what the admin said” hehe. About the book. Is it a physical book, or is it all digital? Because it sounds neat =)

Thank you for your objectivity Ken… I truly appreciate you. I know you have a pretty thankless position as a mod… and you really do, do a good job. Normally… for you I would take it down… but this time it’s crazy… my site is pertinent to help.com.. simple as that. I don’t spam help.com… and this is all allowable by the TOS. Someone is misleading me. This of course makes me even more concerned.

You all are making a big deal for one little ad that means nothing?!

I understand. I will read ditzy’s shout.
But in 100% honesty, no one reported the
ad. The attack on thep from the anon
was reported by a few people, but no
reports on you. That is my word to you,
no one elses words. As for that last bit,
I have some weird feelings about this place.
I will most likely be quiting as a mod once
either the system has been changed or if a
few others are added in my place. I understand people here seem to really go out
of their way to attach themselves to others,

I do ask for an email address, but ONLY for those interested in more information. I have no clients from help.com… and like I said why on earth would I? I give it all away for free to THIS SITE. I wasn’t born yesterday Ken… someone who is against me reported the “ad” simply because they saw it as a way to get to me… as you can see it is harmless… did you read my reply to Ditzy? I understand you are asking in friendship and in friendship I really wish I could do it… I would do it in a second… but you ARE a mod… and someone is trying to push me around on this site.. I know it, so I’ve been informed (I have lots of friends here). And I don’t appreciate someone using my friends to push me around. I won’t let them do that to YOU, or to me.

I am unsure of when he will next be active but I suggest you inquire to him if your
banner is allowed or not. I honestly don’t
think they hurt anything but as you know(or
may not know) we have gotten some reports about it in the past. No, thep didn’t report it. I saw it myself when checking
out a report about the anon on your post.
For my own knowledge, does your site charge
users for anything or ask for personal details? The layout was confusing to me so
I apologize that I have to ask instead of

If this is a moderator judgment, then you close the post. I have little to say against that… other than I’ve asked for a review and if this is it… then YOU close the post. I respectfully disagree with you… The services I offer are very pertinent to help.com, and as you know these ads are allowed by the TOS as long as they are not spam. One banner in a post does not make spam in my opinion. I’ve never seen any one from help.com on my site as a client, and really don’t intend to. Why would I? I give advise away here for free! The main reason I give my site any focus is because that is where I GIVE AWAY MY BOOK to any all ALL help.com members that ASK FOR it. I told all this to Ditzy… did you see her shout? Anyway… you think I’m breaking the rules… YOU close my post.

There seems to be a problem with your ads.
You see, when a site implies it needs
personal information or money for someone
to use it we call that an ad. On the page
that your banner leads to it says
” Call me now: your first 3 minutes are
FREE at Ingenio ” Implying that it costs
money after that. To me it is an ad.
Once we get our admin back full time I
encourage you to contact him because I could
be wrong about that being an ad. But for
the time being I am asking you remove those banners. Nothing personal.

As you may all have noticed we have some new “users” on the site. If you have received this shout it means that I have enabled you to view my email when you visit my profile. If you do IM’s all you have to do is adjust the part after the (at) to fit the messenger. The email you will see is my msn messenger account. If you change the gmail portion to yahoo.com you have my yahoo messenger. And finally if you change it to aol.com you have my aim account. Do not reply to this shout. I am giving this site till next friday(03/21) to improve. If the site is not back to normal or atleast starting to change back I will be gone and the above emails/IM’s are how you can contact me.

Ken… I’m not sure who to ask about this… I see that I have 17 Notices… but when I go to look at them… it says I have no notices… none at all… its a blank page, not even any of the old ones like I normally see.
