  Wow! Those were some quick and interesting responses! THanks guys! This help.com thing is pretty fun! Doncha think that “savage garden” is SUCH a GREAT descriptive phrase? Life is so weird. Weird can be good, huh?

  OF COURSE YOU ARE NOT SELFISH TO TAKE TIME TO HELP YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Infact, taking time out to help yourself is THE ONLY way you can prevent yourself from BECOMING overwhelmed, and inevitably, truly selfish. In order to be sincerely caring and loving towards others, you must FIRST have enough to give- meaning- take care of yourself first and then you can easily and happily help others- you will just WANT to- it’ll come naturally if you are taking care of yourself. You are precious and you need to know it. I don’t mean to babble on, but I too am battling with this issue, and this is what has been working (quite efficiently and miraculously, i might add ) for me! So go out there and HAVE FUN! if that sounds too imposing and overwhelming, then just go out for a five minute walk and breathe deeply. only five minutes. you can do that. even if you really dont feel like it, I promise PROMISE that even this slight change of scenery and blood pressure will alter your perspective. It HAS worked for me. Tried and true. let me know how your little exploration went, even if it sucked (which it wont, i’m sure). moving my body has the exhilarating effect of making me feel more ALIVE. and it feels sooooo good to feel more alive. (even when i forget that it feels so good to feel more alive, i always end up coming to this same conclusion: feeling alive is feeling good (for me). I just KNOW that you are going to be feeling SOOOOOOOOOO much better in no time. I hate having to endure sad, depressive moods. but they do always pass. and taking that little walk will help it pass much more quickly.
