“I cried because I had no shoes, ’till I met a man who had no feet.” — anonymous quote I think, and quite true. Here is a quote from me — ” Our generation is cursed. We have the world, and cry because we do not have the moon.” There is always something to be thankful for, but it is easier to dwell on what we don’t have instead. Kudos to piper for trying to do the harder thing!
2007-05-11 14:16:05 on Does anyone here watch Gilmore Girls?
I know, I’m bummed it is ending too, I just hope they end it well.
2007-05-10 19:17:33 on Three years of sadness.
Hey there. Sorry for the troubles. I can relate some. I’m stuck in a job I never meant to be in and am not sure what my next move should be. I’ve been at my job for 6 years, and never meant to stay past one year! But I do think I will eventually figure it out, and I’m sure you will too. I am amazed at how some of my friends have fallen into careers totally different from what they intended to do. It is hard to work at a job you are not into, but just keep plugging away as best you can, and keep your eye out for any new opportunities. A new door will open up for you. They always say God never closes a door without opening a new one somewhere else. Good luck out there!!

Hey there. Yeah, I watch GG. It’s great! I got into it about a year and a half ago through reruns, then got caught up to prime time. I heard this is the last year of the show, is that true?
2007-05-10 18:40:53 on I’m very inseecure about my weight.
Hey there! First off, skipping meals will not help you lose weight! Really! Your body has this thing called a metabolism, which is the thing that regulates how your body burns fat and calories. It gets sluggish if you don’t eat, and stops burning weight. (at the same time, if you eat too much, it gets overloaded and doesn’t work good) Eat a healthy breakfast to get your metabolism going — cereal, preferably whole grain, or oatmeal or whole grain bread, with eggs or milk, and an apple, or other fruit. Grains, protein, fruit — good breakfast combo. Do lunch the same way, only try to add some veges. And drink water!! It will help you lose weight. If you think you don’t like water, you are probably drinking tap water — try purified bottled water. And keep exercising, even if it is just going for a walk. Take care and good luck!!
2007-05-10 18:17:28 on Ive told people soem things about how i feel when i read books and they just think im crazy
Chicago Girl is right — it is why we read books! We escape into another world and person, and get to experience what they are going through. However, if it seems like it is too much and is bothering you, books have this great escape hatch — it is called a cover, and all you need to do is close it! And don’t sweat it, there are some pretty heavy books out there that can be too much to take sometimes. Maybe consider trying to read different types of books, like comedy books. “Bridget Jones” is hilarious, or try “A Walk in the Woods”. But really, don’t worry too much about it, research has found that when we imagine a stressful situation, our bodies go into a stress response. Hope this helps…

2007-05-09 19:13:57 on I am 18 years old and never had a boyfriend.
Hey, don’t sweat it. I know at your age it seems like it is a big deal not to have had a boyfriend yet, but take it from someone a bit older — it is no big deal! I actually had not had one yet at your age, and didn’t really have a proper boyfriend until I was 21. I am not at all ugly, boring or other wise ridiculous. I can, however, hold my head up and know that I make my own destiny (with a lot of help from God of course ;) ) and I was never a silly boy-crazy girl with lots of regrets, but a fully actualized person with her own thoughts and interests that now attracts likewise worthy interesting guys!
