  The Nurse, never once suggested that she leave her man, I stated that she needs to talk not argue with him and find out what he wants in the relationship and then see if they are on the same page with their expectations. IF not then they need to get some help! Neither of them deserve to be in a relationship where the other is not willing to give 100% of their very best. Even if they are doing the best they can do with what they know HOW to give. I just don’t feel from the information provided that this young man is giving his best. He wants the benefits of marriage with the priviledges of being single. Sometimes you can’t have your cake and eat it too. If he was not mature enough to take on the responsibilities of marriage, he should have never have made the committment. But now that he has, it’s time to step up to the plate, be a man and take care of all his husbandly duties! Which includes, loving, honoring and being considerate of his wifes feelings. And before anyone goes there, NO i’m not an angry single, male hating female. I’m in a happy healthy 50/50 relationship.

  I agree with Xeno, people are afraid of what they don’t understand. Also they are afraid of anything that makes them question themselves. It is not your responsibility in life to make others “comfortable”, by not being who you are. Your true friends will be there for you no matter what, your family may not accept it, but they will still love you, but then again why tell them anything unless you are planning to bring someone long term around them.

  I’m sorry to differ, actually I’m not sorry at all. I think you really need to look at this for what it is, there is more to this than him simply destressing or slow to mature. You are his wife and those are his kids and they should come first and foremost. If he is not willing to sacrifice his “funtime” to be with you all then there is a serious problem and you need to sit him down and re-evaluate some things. Not even in a accusatory way, but ask him what it is he wants out of this relationship and if it is not what you want, then you two need to figure out where to go from there. If nothing else, might I suggest you get some outside friends of your own, strictly platonic of course. It is important to remain an individual even in a relationship, it’s not a game, it’s a neccesity! Remember reciprocity is essential in a healty relationship if you’re missing something, it’s up to you to get it! Of course this is just an opinion.
