Yes, sometimes it’s painful to see people who have problems they could easily solve if they did the rights things, but their problem is even not really wanting help, or perhaps not believing they could be saved from their problems. :(
I’m going to Bangladesh this fall to do voluntary work for a Christian organisation, where I’ll work in a clinic and at a school teaching basic English. I think this will help me get perspective, my mother did something similar 25 years ago, and said it really changed her way at looking at life. Maybe many of my current worries will seem meaningless when I see what people from the developing world have to struggle with?
