hehe Buddhist Christian…that’s great. I know a lot of them actually. They can easily work hand in hand—my most favorite memories are of people trying to convert a monk—
For the record, yes I am christian. Im a christian that accepts others and thier beliefs as thiers.
This may sound strange but I read different books by buddist monks and love them. Especially Thich Nat Hahn. Im reading another of his books now.
I feel that the buddist philosophies match what is taught in christianity, just more easy to read than the Bible. :-) Thier philosophies reinforce my christian beliefs in an odd way.
Ive been on many of those posts in the past and managed to piss off a lot of people. Partially because it was fun, but mostly because I spoke my mind and left no room for them to tell me I was wrong. I would stir the pot and wait for them to contradict themselves and call them bad christians for it. It was great. ;-) Well, they called me a bad christian……
I don’t know if you get invited to loads of posts that you don’t want to answer, but I have and really—the religious ones are the worst—but I can answer them rationally (through Christian rational) and then I get the ‘you make a great Christian—you should convert’ comments…um, yeah, no thanks.
Hijacked, thats funny! I know the feeling though. As soon as I heard them tell me that I was going to hell if I didnt attend their church, I walked out.
Kind of shitty. So I start recovering for a back injury (due to the car accident) and they found some issue with my internal organs—so they want to run all these other tests, and told me above the rest I’m suppose to rest and relax, which just won’t ever happen. So fun times, lots of scares and the doctors trying to get me comfortable with the possibility of having to go through surgery.
Well, I guess, that’s just life for you. Congrats, hopefully everything is settling in nicely. I still never heard from your friend—but I also stopped volunteering at the coffee house, it took up WAY too much time and not nearly enough of a return.
I’ve been adjust to big move. New area, new job….etc…. My old job afforded me the time to ‘play’ online. The new one doesnt. Im still here, just not as often as Id like to be.
