sullyoffice is my skype. I am in Tianjin China teaching English! This is the best job ever! I highly recommend it. Its holiday break now. So, after I work a really intense winter English camp, I am going to travel China for about 6 weeks! I am going to Hubei and then to very western China and then hopefully to a third pace before returning.
Shea is awesome! His whole family was there. Because I was broke when he arrived, he paid for all my tuk tuks anytime I went to go visit him… Took me on a little tour around the island. He also showed me the graphics program he is learning to use and the project he was currently on. I really need to get those pics up on facebook. There is nothing quite like standing in a nice cool swimming pool and typing to friends online. Honestly, if you know Shea on here then you know Shea. I visited with him off and on for about 2 weeks. Courty was only in Phuket for a few days but while she was there we went to almost every beach and up to the big Buddha statue that stands 45 meters! Well… Sits, actually. They are both really cool people. You should come travel! Visit me and we can go see them again. lol
that’s awesome…sounds like you are really enjoying it. OMG, so how was meeting Shea and Courty? Shea was one of the first people I met here and he will always be very dear to me whether I meet him in person or not.
Yes I did! Or am actually!!! I met both Fourthings and Courty in Thailand! That whole part of my trip was soooo cool! I have some of the pics up on facebook. I will get the others up as soon as I get a reliable connection that wont take 3 weeks to upload the pics. I am now in Tianjin China! I teach English here. I also am the recruiting office head so if you know someone who wants to come to China and get payed please let me know!
Well… It is a BBQ and we are running low on side dishes and very heavy on meat. I got the scalloped potatoes and a green salad (chicken sumi its Greek). Something fruity would be good! And desert is always welcome!
I miss winter! We have a really long fall here then straight to spring! My brother has snow up to his gutters… He is in AK. What are you doing for new years? You are invited to my party! I realize you can not come as it is several states away but, you are invited none the less!
Yes, its me and my yellow lab. Bow shooting the other day, everything is still going left. I am going to get a finger sling and see if it helps. Went ice fishing couple of days ago, lots of tip ups triggered but damn getting to them fast enough is always fun! Did a little target shooting as well. I love winter!
About holding the bow to tight… I teach people to shoot with the left hand open and the tention of the draw holding the bow in the palm of the hand. Then just close the index and middle fingers gently around the bow. You are not trying to grip it at all. Just hold your fingers in such a way that it will not fall through on release. Yes it will rock forward but, that is supposed to happen. Does that give a clear enough picture?
oh…no problem. I can check around with the guys at the club too. Just was here and remembered you were an instructor. I know I grip to hard for fear I will drop the bow on release…it’s suppose to tip forward and I have carpal tunnel I tend to over compensate due to numbness which sets in after a the first end.
Oh well…fun is…
ps I was voted onto the member ship committee at the rod & gun club…seems the guys aren’t too put off having a me (a female) around and a full member of the club which is really what was triggering the agoraphobia issues.
So far they have all be very helpful and kind.
Told them I would make bear stew for the game dinner next year… now they are trying to get me on that committee as well. I think they just want a woman in the kitchen…ha ha!
Hey you, is there any easy way to set the sights on a compound bow. I recently went from glasses to contacts and it threw off the sights as expected. The guy that used to do this for me has moved his shop quite a distance away and I really need to figure this out on my own. (please read - this is for the sighting not that actually adjusting piece..I know that part lol).
Also, I use a mechanical release but I don’t have a bow sling so I grip bow to hard. There is a finger sling and then there is the device you wear on your hand. Which do you recommend and why?
It is best if you talk to someone who is familiar with them to get the dosages right. Try here http://www.dd-herbs.com/ he is the one I go to. What country/state are you in?
That is good news… If you where taking an AMO inhabiter this tea could do you some serious harm. No meds means no conflicts. Do you have an herb trader near you? List of ingredients: Lemon balm, ginkgo, nettles and /or alfalfa, jasmine flower, hawthorn leaf, St. Johns wart, dandelion leaf, licorice rot, and lavender.
Anything is better than TV my dear, When my kids are with the ex - the TV never ever goes on. Any luck with the herb specialist - time is passing quickly before Sunday gets here! (biting finger nails!!)
Howling at the moon last night with the kids - got the neighbors dogs in an uproar - laughed all the more. Nothing like seeing a 2 year old act like a wolf pup - - OOOOWWWWWWOOOOOOOO!!!!
Oh…pardon…no expert in Tai Chi - I took a class a couple of years ago and enjoyed it very much. Couldn’t tell you which it was. I miss it and would like to get back to that or yoga someday. :)
I will try the breathing exercise later - I may have time to go shoot my bow for a while today.
To help with shooting, start the breathing while aiming at your target. When you are ready to shoot you relax your chest while keeping about 20% of the air in your lungs. Don’t force air out just let it go. Shoot when your breathing stops. Course you probably knew that one.
Thanks…but Ok Sully dear…do you actually mean for me to this in public??? Have you seen my most recent post about agoraphobia??? *****yikes**** biting her nails/cringing!!! lol
ChiGung is the art of breathing. Take deep breaths in through the nose filling the stomach first, then the chest. Exhale slowly through the mouth emptying the chest first, then the stomach. Start by emptying your lungs entirely and putting your hands out in front of you palms down and arms extended. When you inhale move your arms out to the side and turn the palms up. Go as far as you can. You will feel the muscles in your chest stretching. As you exhale move your arms back to there original position but, push out as far as you can. Repeat this about 10 times. It’s effects are 3 fold. 1; your shoulders and arms get a good stretch and warm up and your hand will be steadier. 2; the slow breathing resets you brain into active mode. You are getting a lot of O2 up there and making your self more alert. It is also calming at the same time. 3; your hart rate is steadied and circulation is restored to a more regular rate. Your nerves will be settled and you will not have the urge to move quickly but, you will have the ability to. I hope that makes sense.
