Hi,
Nah, fell and broke some stuff but healing.
Hehe, I wrote those posts (another one today), but I don’t think I’ll get a prize for “most popular posts”. One of them did not even get a single reply, lol.
They are more like ranting about nothing, like a blog, but serve their purpose as writing training to get my right hand working again.
Hi Jade, so strange - I was just thinking of you!
Well I’m fine. I had an accident but I’m recovering.
A bit busy because I’m in the process of going from one job to another. So I have not been online much.
And how are you?
Hehe, somebody said that I make too few posts.
So I’ll improve and I will post some heavy stuff, making the world a better place… :-)
Hi! Thanks for the shout!
I am almost never on, since weeks.
It appears that nobody even notices that, so I wonder why I am here at all?
Hehe…
But yeah, I am fine and I hope that you are too.
Hugs!

So true - but I think it is a hard lesson that most if not all humans have to learn the hard way at least once in their lifetimes. Hopefully the lesson is learned the first time. Too many repeat offenders make for a sad world! Oooo.. that would explain why antidepressants are taken like candy at least here in the states!!! Hell, I was on them for a while until I gave myself a swift kick in the butt and said Dawn…straighten up and fly right!
Worked like a charm!
Have a wonderful day! Always a pleasure chatting with you molotok! (what is your name if I may ask?)
Molotok - I was looking forward to getting to you better. I enjoyed our recent conversations. If you ever want to chat, say hi, etc…please email me at Jadestange @ aol.com (IM Jadestange) Take care my friend…I hate to see you go you have been such a great help to everyone. I can’t imagine what could have happen to cause you to want to leave.
Thank you for a wonderful time! I love you all, it has just became difficult for me to stay with the site.
I have been a member for more than a year. I have had a lot of personal problems, but I have focused very much on engaging in other people’s problems. Maybe partly because it helps me forget my own stuff. I have only four posts (it could have been five), but I have 410 subscriptions and I made 1,045 comments and a lot of shouts. All of them have been made either because of a sincere wish to help, or simply to cheer somebody up.
But I see difficulties in that for the future. Some of you have my personal email. I have also opened my email to all on my friends’ list.
Feel free to write to me, because I love you!
I will stay on long enough to pick up email addresses from those who want to communicate.
Well, I couldn’t shoot inside the boat, lol. And the fish has to be above the water, So it actually only replaces the clubbing of the fish. But as long as you aim outwards…
A bow… wow! That is as close as you can get without the buck himself shooting back… I’d like the tracking part of it, must be very exciting.
One day I will tell you how you use condomes to catch sharks. No joke! Or how to catch Sailfish and Marlin with a rope, without hook (and no, not by lasso).
Wow, interesting stuff and shooting that close to the boat, well that certainly does have it’s challenges! Bailer aboard? I have only been officially hunting now for about 2 years and I really do enjoy it. Mostly for being outdoors and no manufactured noises. So far, I have taken down a 4point buck and a few turkeys. And one rabbit that happened to hop in my line of sight. Makes for good stew! I prefer to shoot a compound bow over a rifle. IMHO there is more patience and skill required with a bow than the point and shoot rifle. Also you have to really project where the animal is going to go because they hear the bow string and run before the arrow actually hits it’s mark.
On another note, a friend and I went night hiking last evening and we got the treat of seeing a Great Horned Owl. That was very cool!
I did the first fish shooting with a tiny shotgun (20-bore), but it was dangerous as you do it while the fish is at the surface, beside the boat. 1) It was long and couldn’t be hidden in the boat (it must be hidden there and would corrode - you couldn’t carry around a shotgun in a civil-war-country). 2) It made too large hole at short distance and 3) It would explode if accidently touching the water while firing it.
Unfortunately my stainless S&W was only a .22 even if it had a 6″ pipe and used the “long rifle” ammo. I had a large-caliber handgun, but that wasn’t stainless. When shooting also a huge fish on that distance with .22 LR, the bullet could go right through it and the fish would normally only be angry, hehe…
So I did some “bright engineering”, drilling out the bullet into a “shell” of lead and sealed it around a drop of water (carefully, I didn’t remove the bullets from the ammo shells).
This resulted in a much higher velocity while the penetration was less than an inch, creating a huge hydraulic pressure in all directions, turning the poor fish’s brain into porridge…
You may find this being boring details, but I really enjoyed the technical challenge of it!
Hi Jade!
Lol yes, I wrote to a man. That’s nice, a female hunter. In Sweden I’d say there’s probably about 1 % female hunters.
Wait, I’ll check…
We have at present 14,500 of a total 277,000 hunters (population 9 mill), making 5.2 %. This means a 44 % increase during the last few years. (Finland & Norway abt 6-7 %).
The figure for USA is better, about 10%.
All figures mean licenced hunters. I still think the figure is closer to my guess when it comes to the active participants, meeting in the woods. Maybe 2 or 3 %. Unfortunately, “base camp service” is even in Sweden most often provided by the woman in the house while the man goes out having all the fun…
