  I liked your description also Xeno. It does describe a particular level of consiousness, perspective and recognition of ‘reality’ … it, also brings to me memories of Plato’s Allegory of the Cave … In so much as your Box is equivelant to the cave in Plato’s Allegory … your differing paths equivelant to the shadows on the wall, those forced to watch only the shadows, those making the shadows, etc.
  
  You description is missing the concept of being outside of the cave … or outside of your box. Plato’s Allegory describes one of the inhabitants of the cave being dragged outside of the cave … describes how uncomfortable it is …. yet how beautiful it is and how the inhabitant of the cave (after a period of adjustment) no longer desires to be in the cave … in fact, can not go back into the cave because it the awareness of the inhabitant has been raised to higher levels … the former inhabitant of the cave can never go back to living in the cave because of the awareness of so much more …
  
  There is that which exists outside of your box. Outside the box there are no paths … there is no light and there is not darkness … there is no beginning and there is no end … all that is, just is and the only reality is that which is in the moment.

  I was cold … sorry. You are what you are and there is no reason to feel shame or anger. I encourage you to explore why you hate men so much. I mean … I am a woman … I can’t say that most of them make the best of friends … but once in awhile I run into one that is not gay and happens to be a decent person as well.
  
  What ever you do … don’t beat up on yourself for being who you are. This is as much your world as it is any of ours. You have as much right to it as the rest of us. Be proud of who you are and enjoy.
  
  I tell you what … being a woman can be a pain in the neck … uhm for starters … we have to menstrate monthly!! remember??? That is no PICNIC! and men use that ‘I am physically stronger’ crap on you either as a threat or condensendingly all the time … so … it’s not a bed of roses dear. Plus, it is just not safe to travel the globe alone as a female. Unless you carry a long knife and a big gun(know how and are willing to use it both) and an unfeminine attitude.

  Miami … What I want to say is … you are the most important person in your world. You have done your part with your mother and brother. It is okay for you to let go of caring for them and shift your energies to yourself.
  
  By ‘taking care of’ your brother and mother you are ‘enabling’ them to not seek out means of taking care of themselves.
  
  Give yourself permission to take care yourself first. Maybe you want children … you need to make you and your life a priority.

  Great idea Emily! This is sweet.
  
  Some people are just uncomfortable accepting a compliment. I don’t necessarily think it has to do with low self esteem. I could be that they just are embarrassed by the attention. It used to make me feel awkward to accept a compliment. Then a long, long time ago - cuz I am really old - someone told me … “Hey, Jeanne, it is really okay to accept a compliment … just smile and graciously say, ‘thank you’.” So, that is what I started doing.
  
  Now sometimes I will say something like, “Thank you, you are so kind to notice, I worked really hard on that, thank you for taking the time to acknowledge it!”

  Right now, I am feeling pretty over everything. Ready to suck up, be angry and get on with my personal world. Like F**k the world kinda attitude. Something happened. It is not fair to talk about it since it does involve someone here. I believe strongly that it is inappropriate to discuss a problem without all parties involved present. It is just disrespectful to do otherwise.
  
  I am hurting, I have been personally violated … in MY world with MY friends that I have known for years and years! I do not know all of the ramification of this violation just yet. Time will tell. Most of my friends are mature enough to laugh it off … but it is horrible that someone would do what has been done to me.
  
  I don’t know how much I will be here.
  
  There is so much to do in my physical world. I want to focus there. It’s just been hard to be home all alone and people here have helped me adjust with James moving out … but it may be time to move on … I am not sure.
  
  Right now I am violated and hurting. I am sorry that I have to share this with you.
