  Search the internet for family clinics in your area. Use Yahoo. Look them up, research and call before you actually go in. You can never have too much information. Tell them you want to a get check up, if you are sexually active or over the age of 18 you should be getting a pap smear every year anyway. If not, tell them you want your first pap smear. It is not too late to get that pill, you can get it up to 49 days after the sexual contact but first make sure that you are pregnant first. Before going to the clinic, if you cannot wait, get a home preganancy test. Most are extremely acurate 1 day before your missed period.

• What do you think of the war in Iraq?
  

  June will mark the one year anniversary of the death of my close friend Andy Dee Anderson, who died in Iraq. We both were in the US Army Engineering Battalion. Although it had been almost four years since we were in training together, we still kept in touch. He was active Army stationed in Alabama and I was in the Reserves in Illinois. He always called me with some crazy story he had about what was goin on in is unit at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. Over the years as I was losin my interest in the Army, his was growing. He told me how his contract was almost up but he was gonna sign up for another four years. I was glad he was enjoying his Army life. Then in 05 he told me his unit was getting deployed to Iraq in October. At that time my unit was also talkin about sending us to Iraq sometime soon. They sent us to Minnesota for physicals and to write our wills to get prepared to go. I was in school at the time and I was worried that I wouldnt be able to finish my MS degree, for fear that I might be deployed. That was a very hetic time for me and I remember talkin to Andy about it. He wasnt scared to go, and I admired him for that. I wished that I had the courage he had to go over there. Andy left for Iraq in October of 05. He emailed to tell me that he had left and he asked for my number again cause he had left it in his cell phone that he had left in the states. I promptly emailed him back my number and I told him to call me and stay safe over there and that I would be praying for him. Months past and I hadnt heard anything from him. I have had plenty of friends leave for Iraq before and after months of not hearing anything from them they came back safe and sound. I understood how they were not able to use the phone or email everyday. I have been in the Army for 4 years so I knew how busy and hetic things can get that some days u are too tired to use the phone or if you do you only have time to call those closest to you. So I thought nothing of it when I didnt hear anything from Andy. But after I didnt hear from him in October 06, I began to worry a little. His unit was scheduled to come home in October. But I was so preoccupied with work and school, I didnt even take the time out to check on him. After I graduated, I got a phone call from a number with a 334 area code, I though it was Andy but it was a wrong number. I tried Andy’s cell phone but it was off, it had been off every since he left for Iraq so I thought nothing of it. Then I decided to look up his name at Ft. Rucker and thats when I saw the devastating news. Andy had died all the way back in June of 06 when his unit came under enemy fire. Him and his squad where finished building barracks for the day and were packing up to go when a mortar exploded in his area. I cried and cried and cried. I had missed everything! I missed his funeral, his wake, I didnt get a chance to give a proper goodbye! You hear stories everyday of soldiers dying in Iraq, but The reality of the war never hits home until its one of your own friends. Until now none of any of my battles from my, unit, AIT or basic training had died in the war. It sounds crazy but sometimes I blame myself because I forgot to pray for him. I was so wrapped up in my own life, I forgot to pray! So i could never support this war and I can never forgive those that allow it to continue without a cause, a purpose or an end in sight. How could they continue to let hundreds of young lives be lost each month! How can they continue to let this go on. What reason did Andy die for! Who was freed? Who is saved? What was it for? And now I can never see him again! No one could ever really have a true opinion of Iraq until you’ve actually been, there! Live in enemy territory! Constantly protect those that dont want you there, spit on you and try to kill you! How can you ever know without experiencing it yourself! Actually being in the Military and living through it yourself and actually knowing someone close to you that has made the ultimate sacrifice! So I could never support a war that is controlled by those who have no idea what is really going on over there and who has lived through it!

• What Should I do?
  

  Thank you so much for your response. And no I dont think I can handle giving that up. I will always think “what if” What if I do abort this baby, and 20 years down the line I am not able to have any, I will always regret getting rid of this one. What if my Mom had decided to abort me? On the other hand, I think about my baby and he/she having so many half brothers/sisters, being unwed and pregnant, possibly going through this all alone, etc.

• I need help with finding a house to buy with little or no money down.
  

  Try a new construction. I just brought a new home back in August 2006 with no money down. It was in a new subdivision throught Centex Homes. Usually in new contstuction in new subdivisions, they try to get rid of the inventory homes quickly so they get them to sell my offering incentives. They offered me a $30,000 incentive if I brought the house with them and financed my house through them also. I ended up using half as the dow payment the other half has taken off the asking price. Jut remember though, even if you do get a house with no money down,, when getting financed the underwriter checks to see how much money you have in your bank account. You have to at least have one months mortgage worth depending on the finance company. Good Luck!
