If I came off as a bit abrasive, I do not mean to. It is my nature when frustrated to come off as abrasive, even when I talk my voice will raise as if in anger and I inform my friends it is the way I am.

My nephew gets out of stir August 20th. No he is a child of 8, but to him it feels like prison.

As a side note, my sister-in-law’s lawyer is going after the school and the state.

From my Senators office, as I have stated previously we were able to glean some information. Somethings I was able to find out about the school.
1. Did you know that a school district can lose Federal Funding if they deny any student their lunch? The principle when students would have in service detention she would deny the student lunch. Or she would monitor what the student ate and if she deemed it not fit according to her she would toss the students lunch and not offer an alternative, the student went hungry. According to the Fed’s it is a no-no.

2. She would not protect students from others that would do the student harm. The principle would not and did not report the sexual accosting. Another Fed law she has to report that to the school district and the school district reports to the Fed.

3. This is a Michigan State law that evidently has not gotten to a Teacher yet. In Michigan there is no corporal punishment so what ever. The only time a teacher can take action as far as hit a student or otherwise restraining the student is:

A. The teacher can restrain a student, from injuring the teacher or another student.

B. The teacher take whatever weapon the student has and restrain the student from injuring the teacher or another student. The teacher can only use enough force to subdue the student

These are the only times a teacher can use force on a student, no corporal punishment. My nephew had a very abusive 3rd grade teacher.

I come from a fairly large family, oldest of 6. Plus as families go my mothers side of her family, there were 12 siblings, 3 Aunts, 8 Uncles.
