Kathryn “The Budget Fashionista” Finney is the shopping genius behind the extremely popular shopping/fashion website, The Budget Fashionista.com and author of the bible on being fabulous for less, “How to Be a Budget Fashionista (Random House, June 2006). Kathryn has served as a fashion and shopping expert for CNN, NBC’s TODAY show, Women’s Entertainment Network (WE) and FOX Television Network and was selected as one of America’s Smartest Shoppers by The Style Network. She has also been featured in publications as diverse as The New York Times, Reader’s Digest, USA Today, Women’s Wear Daily, and InStyle Magazine.One of the first shopping bloggers, Kathryn has been around the world searching for the best bargains on designer goods, and is willing to get the bargain by any (legal) means necessary. A former fashion editor (REAL Magazine) and talented fashion stylist/personal shopper, she’s a graduate of Rutgers University and Yale University, where she spent more time reading Vogue than Voltaire.
As the Budget Fashionista, Kathryn takes a decidedly democratic approach to fashion - teaching fashionistas worldwide to “buy what you love and love what you buy.” Women are drawn to her focus on the inspirational, rather than aspirational, nature of fashion, teaching them how to be their personal best regardless of income, geographical location, or physical size. In her spare time, Kathryn crank calls credit card companies and wheels a glue gun with reckless abandon. She lives in the New York Metro area with her husband, a coupon book and the spirit of Diana Vreeland.
