  it’s a beautiful post, believe. thanks for sharing. the more i test out the idea “pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional,” the more i discover it isn’t just an idea, it’s true, it works.
  
  we have very similar backgrounds indeed. you really are strong to come through such cirumstances with such humor and faith and will to live fully. you inspire me.

  i agree with other responses that it sounds like depression. exercise, diet, getting into counseling, anti-depressants could all help…. AND….
  
  i want to mention another possibility…. sometimes, if we are lucky, our soul calls out to us, drawing us deeper into a more meaningful relationship with our self, with our life. this might be what is happening to you. suddenly it can feel like nothing matters anymore, like there is no longer meaning in the external circumstances that you used to enjoy. this might be an imbalance in your biochemistry, and you should check that out i suppose. but it also might be your spirit calling you home, telling you that there is much more to life than just circumstances, even if those circumstances are very good.
  
  in any case, there is nothing “wrong” with you. that feeling that something is wrong is a helpful signal, to get your attention, calling you to make some changes.

  you need to get away from this man who uses drugs and abuses you. your baby needs a stable loving home.
  
  i’m a single mom. i wasn’t single when i got pregnant, but over time I realized my boyfriend was never going to do the things he said he would…. get work that would actually support us, build onto the house, sell his art…. blah blah blah, all of which he still says he’s going to do, and all of which he still ISN”T doing three years later. i still love him very very much, but i realize i don’t want to live the way he lives and i don’t want to raise my daughter in a messy chaotic home where we live on welfare.
  it’s tough to manage a job and home and child and life by yourself…. but it is so much better than staying in a damaging depressing relationship! and, you are never as alone as you think…..take the risk, reach out to healthy people, and you’ll be surprised.
  i’ve got great friends who help with my daughter. i’ve got a great job that i love and i’m going to school to increase my income. i even bought a house. it’s lonely sometimes, it’s hard sometimes, but i have a peaceful and happy home for me and my daughter.
  you could try a nanny position. where you could stay with your baby and take care of someone else’s too…. my friend raised her daughter that way…. anyway,
  there are options out there. don’t stay because you’re afraid of all the unknowns of leaving. be much more afraid of taking all that abuse and subjecting your precious baby to that!!
  
  good luck! it’s a great sign that you are aware of the abuse and are even considering getting out. have courage. take charge of your life!
