lol… yeah but now I’ll never be able to fall back asleep… trying to think of the song :)

No worries :-) Now I’m just all the more curious. That’s probably one of the best ways to describe a good inspirational song… A song itself can be forgotten, but the essence sticks with you forever. :-) Thanks.

Hi Richard, quick question… If I were to ask you, What song do you find inspirational… what is the first song that pops into your head?

Richard, your kids (in your avatar) really actually look/seem like/appear to be exactly how you have talked about and described them :-) You can tell, somehow, they are very genuine and artistic. :-) Must be wonderfull to be so proud. Well done. :-)

Oh, and Happy New Year.

No problem my friend… and I understand what you mean completely about having to use the backdoor. But… as you know, in this respect (and all others) ya gotta give to get. Take care & Bright blessings~

Richard, thank you so much for taking the time. Mucho gracias. :-) I agree completely, and will try to figure a way to get that accross to her. Funny, that sort of a suggestion is exactly what she needs, but I feel as though it must be given/made to her through some psychological backdoor. lol.

Thanks again.

sorry it took a bit for me to reply, I am actually hard pressed to think of a solution. These types of people, as you know are very difficult to please. Immediate gratification is what it’s all about. When that doesn’t happen as expected, things tend to blow up. The only thing I came up with is usually not accepted well by this type. That is to GIVE. When we give, we get soooo much back in return. If you could somehow convince her to give… like throw a party… NOT a personal party.. but a community or social event… Halloween is comming up… have her work with her local cities department of recreation… or Chamber of Commerce and with their funding help… and her organizaional skills… throw a Halloween costume party. She will find herself meeting all kinds, and getting back, far more than she gives. Yep… it’s alot of work.. but can be so much fun too.

Hi Richard, sorry to contact you directly, but this is regarding a friend who just might visit this site… :-)

My friend (and my ex) is very depressed, (nothing serious, relatively speaking)… maybe ‘upset’ is a better word. She’s a very kind, fun, etc. etc., person, but I feel as though her depression has it’s origins in selfishness and negativity. A ‘Diva’ who’s really fun to have around is probably an accurate description.

Anyway, she has a fine life, she just wants *more*. She expects that all potentially Fun events will turn out to be a big disapointment. BTW, she’s an ESFJ.

She has a lot of social energy to get out, but is lacking the channels to do so. Basically, she wants a *funner* life, and it annoys her that she has to work to make that happen. I want to give her constructive **critisism**, but she really doesn’t take it that well.

I just wanted to see if you had one of those off-the-top-of-your-head “why don’t you (blank)” or “Try telling her (blank)”.

Thanks for your help (once again :-)

lol… I was so impressed that you could finish it as if it were your own muse. I didn’t even try to assign meaning to it. Now I don’t where it is… nor do I remember it enough to tell you more.

Water!… D4mn, I should have gone with my gut :-) I was thinking water. hehe

Thank you re the poem! That means a lot, especially coming from you. I’m curious, I mentioned in that reply that “there is a message in there”… I’m curious what message, if any, you read from it. I’m NOT looking for any compliments or anything, I’m just curious how someone else interprets it. Actually, if you look at the last couple shouts to me, you might get a laugh out of it. :-)

lmao…. yep… water this time… drank some and got rid of some :) I’m doing well thanks… and I pray you are too. Hey I didn’t tell you but the poem you wrote in “writer block” was amazing. To pick up on someone elses muse and finish it like that was pretty cool.

Just for Informations sake… I usually use http://typelogic.com/typelinks.shtml#… for the tests. The “really short one” is quick and painless. And I find that http://www.personalitypage.com/ is a really good resource for information about the types, once you’ve figured out the type.

I am also curious about what you think of my posts/replies from a CRITICAL prespective. Please don’t take time out of your day to read over my posts, that’s too much to ask. However, if you ever do read a reply of mine and you think I way off, or detrimental in some way, please be critical of it and let me know. You certainly always manage to provide good, deliberate, and intelligent advice :-)

no to both :( Although I am really dieing to see the movie (Peaceful Warrior).

Myers -Briggs… I think it is very valuable, but as I’m sure you know would only be interesting for a certain age group here on Help… and that age group seems to be a minority… not that an attemp wouldn’t be valuable. I’ve yet to find a really good free site on the web though. Most want you to register/buy something or buy “the complete report”.

Quick question. I’m curious, have you read Way of the Peaceful Warrior?

I’m also curious if you have ever tried to get the users of help.com to learn about Myers-Briggs?

yep.. I’ve been “helping” people for a long time. Even as a manager, that is my joy… mentoring, training, helping staff to succeed. I’d love to see your post… can you send me the link?

I see… So you Have naturally always held a helping/guiding type of role. Funny :-) (I mean in an interesting and good way, of course). Thanks.

Wish me luck at my interviews. Oh, and have you checked out my last post? If you’re interested in photography, take a look :-).

Thanks again.

Hi Mike… I was laid off from the tech industry a while ago (2003), and was unable to get back into it. I felt that was not a great loss to me. I was working in Tech Support, which is little more then hi tech customer service (an obvious help function). I enjoyed that except I grew weary of staying current technically… and since I supported an integration engine (which included legacy systems) there was just too much I wanted to learn. I was laid off before given the chance to transfer to simple customer service, or human resources; which is where I really wanted to be. Currently I am working at a bank, in Info Sec… a quaise tech position… but it’s just a job, while I get my psych degree, and Life Coach certificate. Once I’m a certified Life Coach, and making a real go of that… I’ll not be working with computers at all (except to maintain my website :)

So how did I sync the two… computers and psych? I didn’t… computers took a big back seat, and will eventually be gone. THATS what I’m doing. I still think if I could get into human resources… I could achieve alot while doing some of what I love doing… helping people.

Hi Richard, couple of questions…

1. What I’ve been wanting to ask you for a while, but never seem to be able to sync up with you, is; You used to be a Software development manager (I think), but you have found personally fulfilling ability to help people. What choices did you make with regards to your IT career, and your helping/counseling ‘career’? The reason I ask is, I have been very successful in the IT industry, but helping people, and the psychology behind helping people see things differently.

2. I happen to be going for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th interviews today for a Development Manager position at a global IT company. Any advice?
