  I have been there! Honestly, I have. To the point of attempting to take my life twice. What really and truely worked for me? I mean after all the meds, therapy, etc…? (cuz I really love the meds ;) )
  
  It was finding something that gave me purpose. For many people it takes time to find it and you have to be patient. I know, that is so incrediably hard to do!! I never thought things would change. I never thought that feeling of “it’s hopeless” would ever truely go away. But it did, it does, it can, and it will. So, what do ya do? Just hang in there. As hard as that can be…again, I really truely know just how hard it is. But always keep in mind that if you don’t get up the next day and make the effort then you have only sealed your own fate of never having it happen for you. As hard as it is go forward, move.
  
  It takes time. It takes a long time actually. In fact, I will probably deal with those feelings all my life but I can actually say I am happy now. Even though you feel it is hopeless, tell yourself over and over that it can change. You just don’t know what the future has in store for you and if you are at bottom then you can only go up!
  
  So, in summary, just keep moving on. :)

  Wow, I think this is a bit of over-analyzing! LOL I again agree with the_girl_you_know, I don’t believe she or the poster have a “problem”. Again, even if some scientists did some study, normal is relative. I say we relax in knowing that our bodies are releasing the emotions in a relatively healthy way and look for the good in that not the negative. Looking for the negative is where most of my problems come from! LOL

  I believe in God and I believe He does work in people’s lives but I don’t believe He does things just cuz we ask Him to. So my question is, how do you know this…?

  Does He want us to stuggle? I believe that He wanted me to stuggle. What came of my struggling was so much greater then if I had never went through it. So my struggle was a very good thing.
  
  I think if you like the job you have then you should stay in that job and just live within your means. Why ask for more if you are doing what you want to do in life. And I agree, you probably need a vacation. Everyone needs time to just get away.

  This comes from Romans 12:10 and I study everything from the Bible by trying to go back to the original text:

  In the book “The Five Love Languages” Gary Chapman writes this on page 30:
  
  “Unfortunately, the eternality of the “in love” experience is fiction, no fact. Dr. Dorothy Tennow, a psychologist, has done long-range studies on the “in-love” phenomenon. After studying scores of couples, she concluded that the average life span of a romantic obsession is two years. If it is a secretive love affair, it may last a little longer.”
  
  I don’t believe the “in-love” experience is truely love…I keep copying and pasting this response I had in another post but it explains my view:
  
  “I believe love is an action not an emotion. Infatuation is an emotion.
  
  Love is what we do for others to make them feel special. It is the action of love that makes us feel special by other people. It tells us someone found something they like about us and choose us and that makes us feel special. I can love anyone…even people I dislike. For example, my father can drive me up a wall…he can be downright selfish, negative, and miserable. I don’t like him…if he was not my father I probably would have never associated myself with someone like him. But he choose me, he is my father and I am his daughter, so I can love him, I can make him feel special by listening to him and doing the things a daughter can do for her father to make him happy.
  
  When I met my husband I was infatuated…on an emotional high up in the clouds. When that emotion subsided and I came back down to earth then the real love started. After 10 years of marriage he still looks me in the eyes before kissing me goodbye before work because he knows that lets me know it is not just a habit. He wants to make me happy and feel special every day. I do the same back to him.
  
  So, to me love is what you do for other people to make them feel happy…and it is what people do for you to make you feel special.”

  I am not sure we are talking about the same wheelchair. However, the one I saw was Senator Robert Byrd. Also, he was the other gentleman that was taken out at the luncheon when Teddy Kennedy had his seizure.

  Agreed but my perspective is from Littlenick’s example and his family’s lack of unconditional love and the result it has of his not being able to depend on them.
  
  If I know someone has unconditional love for me then I know I can depend on them. Of course if I have unconditional love then the message goes out that others can depend on me.

  Littlenick, you gave gave a very good example of a family that knows how to control you. See the key to my response was “not care so much”. If you make your family everything, then you have lost yourself and given yourself completely over to them. If you are always trying to please your family for fear you might offend them and have them punish you by using conditional love then you are not true to yourself and a slave to their wishes.
  
  Parents will not always be around. They grow old and you lose them. You must learn to depend on yourself, financially and emotionally.
  
  Unconditional love means you can depend on others. Conditional love is damaging and a lie.
