- (1 vote) My mom wont let me shave and I want to but every time
For starters my friend I can understand how the opinions of your friends and peers mean much. However, we must base our needs and wants on them.
We must look into that first. What your friends do today is a choice they make for themselves. You, you are unique. You have your own way of thinking, your own way of being. You must decide for yourself if you want to shave. So I ask you - if your friends were not here at this moment. Would you still want to shave?
Beyond the decision.
Once you have decided for yourself without the pressures of friends and peers, and without the discipline of your mother, we set sail. If you do - well the best thing to ask yourself is it are you more fascinated with the idea of shaving? Do you have hair? If so, why do you want to rid of it? Of course pending on your gender (not so much), a male will shave his face to keep clean. Women may choose to shave their legs and their arm pits for social obligation (again criticism of peers and society for both men and women honestly). I shave my face simply because it makes my face feel clean - I like the feeling - I don’t not gain positive sensation from it enough to become necessity, but I enjoy it).
So is it curiousity or is it because your friends do it?
Age is never a matter in learning - ever. If someone stops you - find a way. Do you have an older relative, or a family friend. The cliche manner is to have mother teach you the way or father teach you the way, but we are indeed in a new era. Trail your thoughts - decide on how you might approach your mother on this. Bring it out on the table.
Once you know your motive - discussing it becomes easier. You are neither right or wrong for having discussion. Learn why she said no. Try to understand her. Eliminate the emotions from this. If you start to get discourage - express that through your words. If you find yourself saying things without thought step back and ask to table this again after you have had a chance to clear your mind.
Do not rush your decision here. We are not going anywhere for a bit, take a breather.
Shave if you choose, and well it is like me learning how to cook. It takes time, some patience, and confidence. Best of luck my friend.
