Yay! So thrilled to hear about a certain guy who asked you out! This really sounds like something to look forward to! Yes… keeping my fingers crossed about the chemistry, but I must say you feeling comfortable already sounds like a good start! Just hearing that gives me some hope about a search for a significant other again! :D
Yes… if more weddings were like that I would have no qualms about attending! It was all outdoors - close to nature… flowers everywhere and music (jazz with a Latin sound), (the bride and groom have quite a musical family! )

Happily ever afters are inspiring! :) We all deserve one of those. Yes things are a little hetic and about to get worse, but all is still good. A certian guy asked me out, but we are going to wait a few weeks. I talked with him for about two hours tonight. There is something absolutely adorable about him. I just hope the chemistry we have over the phone translates into something in person. Talking to him is so comfortable and we could talk for hours and hours.
Most of the week I had sleep issues, so I can relate. I don’t think I will get much sleep tonight. The wedding you went to sounds absolutely beautiful.

Hey Max,
Doing okay. Lots of stuff to do, but okay in general. A little on the cranky or down side (not enough sleep perhaps.) I also have neglected to get a good week’s exercise …feeling a little cooped up on the computer. Nearly finished another project though!
I went to my friend’s wedding last weekend and it was absolutely beautiful! i am not much for weddings and have never liked going to the ceremonies - always a lot of protocol and all the obnoxious stuff involved in those kind of events - but this one was different. I actually started to shed a few tears at several of the speeches given and just seeing my friend’s tears of joy at marrying the woman of his dreams. It was just beautiful and spontaneous. As I was telling Soul it was “come as you are” - no need to get dressed up or bring gifts. Most important for my friend was the presence of his friends and family and all of the kind hearts that were there. Oh I have to brag… I had the ultimate privilege of being seated at the bride and groom’s table! :D Anyway I love happily ever afters! :D
Having my tea and winding down for the evening. Check your snail mail for something should be arriving soon! :D
I hope you are doing well… sounds like you are keepin’ busy!

:D Hello Ames! I have to actually get up very early and go to work. Yikes. I need to do laundry and finish a project, but instead of doing these things I am here. How are you?

Yay! That is fantastic news! I am so glad it is going well so far! :) That makes me happy.
Yeah… my cousin was angry for many of the same reasons I was angry as a teen and 20 something. There were some family issues after divorces that have never really been resolved. My cousin went so far as to cut certain family members completely out of his life. I have done it as well, although not completely. I keep certain people at arm’s length because I have learned I don’t want to deal with rejection, comparisons and criticism. Its a long story I won’t get into here though, but I understood his anger initially.
Yes… had those floaters all day today, but didn’t develop into anything worse. I was helping my friend with yard work again and everytime I looked up at the sky (was using an apple picker to take down some apples) I would see those darn spots! LOL! :))

I get floaters sometimes, but they don’t last long and are not troblesome.
I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. That is awful. You are a strong woman and I am so glad you learned to take care of yourself.
I recieved an email from my internet friend, so I know sort of what he is thinking. It was nice.

Hmm… no haven’t any other symptoms. I may go to my eye doctor since it is a little bothersome. I went last year and mentioned I had some trouble with it and he said it isn’t that uncommon. My mom said she noticed this happen when she was pregnant with me! LOL! I don’t know if the two are related …and I’m not pregnant… at least not that I know of unless it was immaculate conception! :)) ha ha!
Yes… sad when that happens. My cousin committed suicide when he was in his mid 20s. He was a graduate student at Berkeley studying microbiology and had just started teaching. He as highly intelligent and attractive, but very bitter which turned inward and caused him a great deal of depression. I could understand his anger because it was something I was familiar with… eventually I overcame it because it got more and more uncomfortable to focus on it and to deal with the bouts of depression that followed. My health was also at risk. It took a lot of motivation and support from caring people, but I pulled myself out of it and what a relief to see the world through a different perspective. I’ll admit I sometimes go back to those feelings though, but they are not nearly as intense as I once let them be in my mind. I don’t want thoughts like that or even cruel people to guide my life on this earth. I am so sorry for this guy’s family - the pain they must know from the loss. :(
LOL! Yes …I know that feeling. Its the waiting game. Kind of like waiting for Santa to come on Christmas Eve with something you had been hoping for all year long. :))

Sometimes floaters are a sign of migraines. Do you feel any other symptoms?
He was only 18. He was seriously mentally ill. He was one of the sweetest guys you could ever meet. He was so loved and cared for by his mother and grandmother. My heart aches for them. He was in a lot of pain and always thought someone was out to get him, but at the same time he was an extremely friendly and intelligent young man.
The internet guy is driving me crazy, because I have no idea what he thought of our conversation. He said he would call me when I get back from New York.

Oh no! That is sad. I am sorry to hear about that. The positive thing about it was you were there for him when he needed someone. Sometimes no matter how hard we try it isn’t easy to persuade someone to get beyond a difficult addiction whether it is to negativity or drugs and see there is something more out there. A person really to want to overcome and to be comfortable in life. They have to work with your guidance and then proceed or start to take a few steps on their own. But you know what I am saying though. :)
I am glad that guy turned out to be sweet! I think that is uplifting and encouraging! :)
No …hardly ever get migraines, but my mom is a migraine sufferer.

No I heard that one of the students who I was close to last year died. It is pretty devasating, but I am ok. He was an amazing guy. His poor family. I don’t know the details, except he died in his sleep of what looks like a drug overdose.
The sweet guy was great. We talked for over an hour.
Do you get migraines?

Hey Max!
Whats up? I see you have a little pouty face next to your profile name. :( I hope that sweet guy didn’t turn out to be a dud!
I’ve got this spot thing going on with my vision. Its driving me insane. Its been going on for a couple of months now, but some days are worse than others. “Floaters” I guess they are called. Maybe it is from attention to detail on the computer kind of work. Yikes!

I sent you a draft for one idea I had a couple of years ago. Its a picture so the little animations I had in it don’t show up.

I think you should stick with the humor-ish cartoony theme. I think it is fitting for your personality. When you are finished with that you can make another one that shows off your retro style. You just need to take a couple days to yourself to finish it.
OliveOil
1 year, 4 months ago
LOL! I guess when I finish other people’s websites… which means probably never ever. :)) No… I will get to it. I have a friend who teaches web design and interactivity and she has been on me about it for a while. She even looked up information for me. I have started several ideas for websites in fact, but have not put anything together. I think I just need to get some sort of a structure or outline up and start adding to it little by little. I keep changing my mind though… initially I was going for humor-ish or cartoony, then I went for a more retro look.
Wow! My internet connection is slow today.

LOL! I did it! I posted a little cartoon of me at work. LOL… well, not really “at work” - kind of at work/at play. :D Kind of a wicked little smile on my face. I like to animate people who are nasty or a little off the wall… turn them into creatures. LOL! Comic relief I think its called? LOL! :) I’ll keep this avatar temporarily and then go back to my duck. :)

Yes… maybe I will put up my cartoon temporarily. I will let you know when I do that! LOL!

Hahahaha! We have been sharing shouts for ever, probably for almost a year, but I never thought you were a guy. I once made a post to make sure people knew I was female.
I would love to see one of those self portraits. How cool!
I am off to bed. Sweet dreams! :)

Awww… I think it will be okay. Just go in with the expectation that you are making a new friend. I know that doesn’t necessarily help with nerves… I know that feeling! I am just glad he made contact! That is really sweet he checks his e-mail looking for something from you! Some people won’t even admit to that because they like to seem important or too busy! :)
Saw the shouts! I was cracking up… I guess the duck doesn’t make me so obvious. LOL! Maybe a pink duck? Actually I like the anonymity! And you know how I like to eat flies! LOL! ;)

His voice makes him less a concept and more a person. I actually am so silly, I had my sister and sister-in-law listen. The both thought it was cute because he sounded a little nervous. If he only knew I was talking to my friends online about him. Luckily he thinks I am a confident woman and not some person who is obsessing about him. I asked him in an email on Friday what he was thinking about the situation. His response in an email yesterday was that everyday he checks his email hoping there is something from me. I am just worried because now I feel that my expectations are rising and my heart is in it.

Yay! I am so excited for you! I am so glad his voice sounds so nice! Thats a good sign! Now I am wishing I could phone you, get all the details and hear his message to you! :) I think I am missing out on a love life. LOL! :))
I will have to check my mail. I have it on my Yahoo work mail at the moment, but will switch over to the other. :))
Ooo! I’ll take a peek at your shoutbox. :))

It sounds like you are having a nice evening! My whole week has been crazy busy and I don’t think it is going to stop being that way for a while.
Hearing his voice makes him human, so I am very glad I sent him my number. We will see how my conversation goes with him tomorrow. He did sound adorable, so I am quite nervous!
I am looking forward to hearing your responses to my email, especially because I was so honest. I am hoping you don’t think I am insane now. It may have been the most open an honest email I have ever written.
BTW, you should read my shout trail with Florie. We were just talking about you.

Yay! I am so glad to hear that! I definitely think hearing a voice is a great step when it comes meeting someone through an online dating site. From what I have told you I must say a voice, under those circumstances, is always reassuring! :))
Nice you enjoyed your day! Crazy-busy can be a good thing. I go through phases where I am totally pre-occupied and other times where I am not as busy as I would like to be. :))
Drinking apple cinnamon tea, watching the History Channel and have just removed my dirt covered running shoes in the wash. Wow! They look like they did when I first bought them! LOL! Nothing too involved at the moment. Just relaxing and waiting for an e-mail from the woman I work with on that particular project I mentioned.

Hey Max!
Hows it goin’? I need to get a snail mail out to you soon now that I am moving forward and making progress on this project I am working on! I can relax a bit more now. I am kind of celebrating tonight. I managed to FINALLY get over yet another major hurdle in a project! I was so afraid I wasn’t going to be able to accomplish it, but I finally figured it out. I feel like I can breath again. I had the “aha!” moment last night after getting terribly frustrated and plugging in different codes. It finally occurred to me just as I was about to go to sleep! LOL! I don’t know why this always happens to me! :))
How are you doing?

I agree … intelligent and well put!
Some people are talking about expectations from Obama. Of course expectations shouldn’t be on high for any candidate. We don’t really know a politician until we observe change in the course of their direction. Obama can’t promise to resolve every issue and must aim for balance, but I don’t doubt his ability to make progress. He is already showing us his plan for action. As one reporter mentioned it will take time and effort to work this out and Obama can’t do it alone. I am happy to see he is willing to work along side of others and not above them or without direction. That he isn’t stagnant or close-minded and open to learning… and that truly is important in life.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlX9l1…
Scary! Although this is propaganda - it is just one of the number of clips taken from various interviews and shows us what we should expect coming from this candidate.

Here he is trying to snow a reporter rather than answering the question.

Didn’t see the entire speech. BD posted the script which I am looking over.
Yes. I get tired of the ignorance in this country too. Wherever I travel I hear intelligent discussions about my country that make me feel ashamed. In a pub in Dublin, at a park in Germany, from friends of mine who are from Japan… and the sad thing is they are right.
LOL.. McCain’s “experience” obviously wasn’t able to teach him much. He doesn’t know the difference between Sunnis and Shi’ites or how to answer reasonable questions put to him by the press. He can’t seem to do it without getting defensive and without calling everyone “little jerks” as if their questions or positions are beneath him.
Reminds me of this video that either you or Florie posted a while ago…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEtZlR…
Experience?
LOL! Yes I never knew what my friends were saying when they referred to soda as “tonic” - although I would understand “pop.” They also called lunch dinner! I think in some parts of Canada this is also true. I remember at noon they would be called in for dinner and I would be called in for lunch. LOL!
I hope they find a proper treatment for cysts… I understand they are quite painful. I remember this friend of mine in so much pain. Glad you are there for her! What a valuable friendship! :)

“The walls between old allies on either side of the Atlantic cannot stand. The walls between the countries with the most and those with the least cannot stand. The walls between races and tribes; natives and immigrants; Christian and Muslim and Jew cannot stand. These now are the walls we must tear down.” Obama
Simply brilliant! :]

Awww, thanks Ames!! :) I felt kind of bad because I originally answered one guy on there by calling him an idoit, which is not my usual style, but I am just tire of stupid people. Although, I was pleasently suprised when he actually started to engage in intelligent dialougue.
My niece has had chronic problems with cysts and not much help from doctors. She is also a great support and friend to me.
In Arizona and most of the country it is called soda, but in the Midwest we call it pop. If you ask for soda here you will get seltzer water. I have never anyone call coke tonic, interesting.
And yes I actually believe it could become a reality too! :]
