2008-05-10 22:32:37 on Pregnant Military Wife Husband trying to Leave after 3 weeks!
Are you in the DC limits? Maryland? VA? Check the state website (or District of Columbia) for the annulment criteria.
Follow the advice of Chev. I also suggest you keep the marriage license in your presence just in case your husband decides that he is going to make it even more difficult for you and “destroy” it. (The county clerk will have your information on file, but it is a pain to have to obtain another copy.) Also have your husband’s SSN handy as this may help track him in case you don’t know any unit information about him.
It is pertinent that you take advantage of the military medical benefits! Don’t delay or turn down the medical help that you will need. It will be difficult to maintain the medical needs you will require as you progress in the pregnancy, and the military can help you!
Other than that, make sure that your family and friends know what is going on. Make sure you location is always known. I don’t mean to speculate that anything may go awry, but recently there were a Marine in NC who is speculated to have committed a heinous crime against a fellow (female and pregnant) Marine. You and your unborn child’s safety is paramount.
2008-05-10 22:11:51 on does anyone know how bad an OTHER THAN HONORABLE discharge from the military is?
Yeah unfortunately that is going to be a damper on his resume. But people do recover from their history. Good luck.
coastie, what does your friend do? i have a friend who may be receiving a bcd, and he is hopeless………..
He now works for a company that distributes mining equipment on the global market. After the Corps, he started working for the State Patrol, but didn’t fit in well with law enforcement and resigned (not for any bad reason, just not his cuppa). He then went to work for a security contractor and worked as a supervisor for the security dept that maintained Raytheon (gov’t contracting). What helped him was his service record. He maintained a great service record up until his discharge, and he also kept his top-secret security clearance active. Little things like that can keep you in the good graces.
What is your friend’s discharge? I see Bad Conduct, but what does it come down to?
My buddy was discharged RE-4 OTH for admission of homosexuality. It might not seem that bad of a discharge, but there are still many companies that view this as a bad discharge. My buddy still retains his GI bill benefits and keeps his same gov’t retirement eligibility. (Meaning if he was to obtain a gov’t job, he would still have ten years of prior military service that would add to his ten year gov’t work for total of twenty years retirement.)
2008-05-05 23:27:24 on how can iknow that igot in christianity relegion is there any act ido or ist aword to say that made me know am not muslim any more?
The only thing I really have to say is that we all must understand that Allah is still the same God that Christians worship. If she converts to Christianity, she is not turning her back on “Allah”, she is choosing to worship Allah/God in a different facet than Islam.
Makroz, Christianity’s main focus is love for God, love for yourself and love for your neighbor. It teaches that everyone aside from God lives from time to time in sin. By aknowledging that you (and I) have sinned, we learn what the sin was, and how not repeat the same sin then ask for God’s sincere love to replace feelings of guilt and shame. It looks like you are starting to use this knowledge. You realize that you made a mistake, that you intend to deal with it the best way you know how, and you are choosing to maintain a relationship with God. You don’t exactly need to denounce your Islam beliefs, as there are many good teachings of Islam.
May I suggest a way to redeem any guilt that you have? Ask for forgiveness and in turn, start trying to help other Muslim girls who have made the same mistake you have. That would be a Christianly thing to do. Help all who need help. My personal feeling is that God is celebrating the life that he created inside your womb, as a guy who wants to be a father myself, I would be overjoyed with the excitement of a child (even if I was as scared too!).
As for your personal safety.. is there a way that you can make sure that your life is not taken by your religious leaders? Help us in the western world understand how Islamic law works in your nation. This is something that we are not accustomed to, especially in the United States.
I hear many people talk about focusing on their career and it causes love to be lost. But does that have to be? Perhaps he or she could be more understanding and the both of you just work with the relationship as you are pursuing your career. One day you will want someone by your side, do you want it to be him?
That could definitely be a possibility, though immensely tough. Military relationships for our kind are trying. (Both male, he is enlisted Navy, me CG.) But the main point is that I am so okay being single.
2008-05-02 00:12:46 on My school is plaing on eliminating… cap and gown
Cap and gown is not all that important.. after graduation it wouldn’t matter anyway.
As for formal. It is nice to know how to dress formally. There are times when you need to be a little more elegant than normal. There is also something very hot about someone who can dress to the “T’s”.
I went to a very formal restaurant the other night.. just to experience a real treat of great cuisine. It was a GREAT choice, but required a more formal dress. It was quite fun actually.

I just love shakeybritches because that means I am doin’ something right.
2008-05-02 00:05:13 on Does anyone know what characteristics are associated with the zodiac signs?
LoL
Yeah, people don’t expect a lot from us. And we are easily distracted.. I have heard we are “trouble”. I can tell you are! (That’s okay, I am too.)

Nice! I sometimes think we are the blondes of the Zodiac.
Yeah same sigh with 2 different names.I know a lot about geminies. They like people a lot and SHOPPING!
Haha that is funny. My dominate sign is Gemini. We love to go out and have fun. A lot of people think we are shallow because we take interest in many MANY things, but ask a Gemini a question and he/she will give you a great synopsis. We are experiencers. We absolutely love to feel what it is like to be/do everything…. or at least I do! Don’t ever ask us to make concrete plans, and never ever ask us where/what we want to eat/do. That is like death… too certain. Spring it on us, the more unplanned the better.
My issue is the social part of it. I am a Gemini/Cancer. There are many nights where I will fight myself to stay in (Can) or go out (Gem).

Gemini/Cancer both fit oh so well.
Moody and have multiple personalities. LOL
