That’s incredible. Along with his recovery he’s going to face all the friends and family who knew the kids that didn’t make it. That’s going to be tough. He’ll need a good therapist, and this place can be helpful sometimes, too.
He’s out of the ICU, he’ll be discharged soon. It’s really remarkable. He had two collapsed lungs and a torn aorta. They only gave him a 30% chance of surviving.
Well it probably hasn’t, but I’m sure you’ll sort it all out in your own time. That’s an awful way to start a vacation. I suppose it’s better than not paying your last respects at all, though. The boy from the accident who is in the hospital, didn’t find out until friday…after all the funerals were over. He asked not to know, he was in bad shape and knew he needed all his strength to get through it. I can’t imagine close friends passing, but I think it’s even worse to not be there. I suppose we were lucky to be able to say our goodbyes. I hope the rest of your vacation gives you the rest that you need.
Thanks so much for your concern, sansceriph. It really means the world.
Glad you’re back snow, we missed you. This weekend at the beginning of my vacation, I’m attending the funeral of a friend I knew in high school. I hadn’t seen him for over twenty years. I don’t think I feel it yet.
Have you seen that show ‘30 days?’
It’s by that guy who did the ’super size me’ movie. I was watching reruns of it the other day and they took a man from WV and had him live with a Muslim family for 30 days. It was so amazing to see him change his views. I’m really hoping that you caught it, it’s so relevant to your post.
