2008-09-25 04:53:25 on Review?
I think you should ask your teacher if he/she will allow it. Some teachers will think it is an original idea and applaud it, others will not allow it. It’s best to know for sure. For me, if I were to write a review of a review, I’d compare more than one text, like two reviews of the same movie and see what they agree and disagree on and in what way they go about their review - is there a system or a rating?
2008-09-25 04:49:50 on Peace out
It’s always good to be reminded that a heart is big enough to love more than once. I hope life will be good to you Richard.
2008-09-24 08:56:40 on can you reword this sentence for me?
Is it a question for an exam or something? I’d say:
Please write a short comment on whether or not Special Interest groups should be allowed to influence political campaigns. Use both the article (mention its name) and what you had to learn about elections in your comment.
Or maybe:
You had to learn a lot about elections and you have just read this article. So what is you opinion, should Special Interest Groups be allowed to influence political campagins?
Or:
Argue, using the article and your knowledge of elections, if Special Interest groups should be allowed to influence political campaigns.
2008-09-24 08:48:11 on I am starting a philosophy class and I want to know as much as I can.
If you want to be prepared, check out what you will be reading for this class. They will not expect you to know much about philosophy in advance and probably start with some definitions. As with most sciences, there are different schools of thought within philosophy so it is difficult to give a definition because they don’t agree on one. That will probably be part of your first lecture. One of the basics of philosophy is logic though. So you could start by finding out a bit more about inductive and deductive reasoning. Or, if you want a nice read and a bit of feeling for the field, read the world of Sophie.
2008-09-24 08:41:42 on law on teachers
I guess it depends on the age of the students and what kind of road trip it is. You can probably find it if you search the UK government pages if there is a strict law, but you could always ask the school if there isn’t. They will have a certain policy, that is usually more strict than the law.
2008-09-24 08:39:15 on I always burst out crying.
Listen, I’m 27 years old now and I’ve always had this problem myself. When something really matters to me, my tear glands simply start up. It may mean that I’m sad, but most of the time it simply means I care about what I’m talking about. It has become better over time, it doesn’t happen to me quite as often as it did as a child, but since my mother still has it in some instances I think it will never go away. The good news is that most people don’t care and when I explain it in advance, or when it starts to happen, they simply ignore it and keep on talking with me. It doesn’t matter to my friends, it doesn’t matter to my family, it didn’t even matter at my work.
2008-09-24 08:31:39 on So in college I’m talking this classed called
So do you have a good idea by now, or do you need more direct information?
2008-09-24 08:29:19 on Just to get to know all of you a bit better: what is your favourite -ism and why?
Floridalab - You pose an interesting question: do we have to be able to describe things to truly understand them?
I agree that we all see the world in different ways and mean different things by the same words. But, like Hannah Arendt, I like to think that if we come together in the public domain and show each other what the world looks like from our own perspective, we learn something about the reality of things - look at it from as many angles as there are people.
2008-09-24 08:23:49 on I don’t know how I feel exactly.
Well, thanks for the replies.
2008-09-24 08:22:24 on Hello All :D I have a passion for Words.

2008-09-24 08:17:10 on There are these two chicks.
I hate it when they do this. If you cut out all replies from the poster, why leave the rest? It makes absolutely no sense this way. Can’t you just remove the whole post?
2008-09-24 08:13:03 on I Need some advice, please!
I really don’t know. Maybe he wondered whether or not to tell you he is using you as an example, worried if you would react positive? Or maybe he has some feelings and attempts to overcome them. I think the key element here is what you feel about him. If you can live without him, I suggest you don’t see him for another few years and have that talk at the next reunion. But if you are interested in him, you may want to find out what’s going on. Do make sure you like the guy beyond the teacher though, or you’ll be disappointed.

A very good poem indeed.
2008-09-24 07:51:04 on sometimes,
I get the feeling this is two poems rather than one. Both have potential, but it’s difficult to connect the first part with the second. Maybe you need some kind of bridge, or maybe the one is a motto for the other?
2008-09-12 17:13:49 on I don’t know how I feel exactly.
My boyfriend’s home now, so I think I’ll be off to bed soon. I’ll be back here tomorrow, but I won’t be responding untill then.
